Normal Stools Am I Healthy
Can lack of exercise and healthy diet cause difficult bowel movements even if stools are normal and not hardened? Normal stools but difficult passing?
Fiber & water.: By "lack of...healthy diet", we usually would refer to the lack of fiber-containing foods and enough daily water intake. Both of these are important for the easy passage of normal stools. Lack of such can lead to stools that are more solid than they should be and therefore more difficult to pass. Believe it or not, a "normal" stool is 75% water so adequate water intake is important for this. ...Read more
I've been having green normal stools paste three days haven't eaten any green and I'm worried what could cause this?
Green is the color of bile which enters the intestine from the gallbladder, faster transit results in greener stool. Or it could be from greens that your ate as transit time is about 53 hours (time in the colon alone in studies was 40 hours.) Stool colors that are worrisome are red, black tarry stool and white chalky stool.

Bowel change: Since this is a change in your usual bowel pattern, it shouldn't be ignored and a colonoscopy may be in order. Your stools suggest recent constipation and if increasing fluid intake and fiber or Metamucil in your daily diet doesn't get you back to normal regularity, it's important to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist. If you haven't had a screening colonoscopy, this is a good time to get one. ...Read more
