Can skinny people feel almost all their normal lymph nodes in neck groin and armpits? What size is considered unenlarged?
Size differs: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more

I have 2 pea sized, rubbery, movable lymph nodes on the left side of my body (armpit and groin). I have no other symptoms. Normal CBC. Should I worry?
Need an exam: Lymph node enlargement (lymphadenopathy) is often due to a recent infection and sometimes underlying malignancy, or other disorders. If the lymph nodes have been present for a long time without enlarging in size there is less chance of malignancy. It would be best to have your physician examen you. He or she may decide to watch the nodes for a while or possibly order a lymph node biopsy. ...Read more

Armpit lymph nodes seem to swell when I wear a bra, then go down when I don't. Is this normal? What could be causing this condition, constriction?
Pain under armpits. Lymph nodes not enlarged, blood work is all normal. Dr thinks its muscle. Its been over a month. Less in the evening, more daytime?
Armpit Pain: Pain can occur under your arm for a number of reasons. One of the most common reasons is a brachial plexus injury. This is trauma that occurs when the shoulder is pressed down and the head is pulled away from that shoulder. It often occurs in contact sports or from a fall. In addition, problems with the nerves of the arm, or brachial plexus, such as neuropathy or dysfunction, can cause pain. ...Read more
Are small palpable lymph nodes in the armpit area almost always related to cancer? I have one that seems pea sized and easily moveable.

19 y/o, 2 movable lymph nodes in right armpit. Not growing in size, sometimes aches, bad anxiety, docs don't seem bothered. Can't stop worrying.
See if this helps: It's good that they are moveable and sore. Malignancies often are fixed and painless. Also good that the doctors are untroubled. It 'd be better if they were able to convey relief as well as lack of concern, but tight schedules make that hard. A likely cause is an infection of some sort. A cyst is also a possibility (nothing to fret about). Don't use anti-perspirant. Give it time, then ask again. ...Read more
If u can feel lymph nodes just above armpit that r less than 1cm is it normal? I'm 26, 140 pounds, so skinny. I feel 2, doc felt 1 said its 0.7cm so ok
Your doc maybe right: It is normal for small lymph nodes to be slightly palpable. However, if they are painful, getting larger, or feel like they are stuck within the tissue (not mobile), then you need to bring this to your doctor's attention again. Check your axilla once a week, but not every day because you may irritate the node by constant pressing. Tell your doctor if it's getting larger and maybe get ultrasound. ...Read more
I have been dx'd with scc of the skin. I know it has the potential to spread to lymph nodes. I have a pea size bump in armpit. Should I be concerned?
Probably not: You gave no details about the scc or about yourself. Where is it? How old is it? How large? Ulcerated? Do you have an organ transplant? Hiv? Leukemia? Is the scc in an old burn scar? In a chronic ulcer? Most scc are easily cured and are not life-threatening. If they are on the lips, ears or genital areas they are more serious. If you have impaired immunity it is worse. ...Read more

Lymph nodes.: Technically speaking we recommending getting biopsies (excisional) of lymph nodes if they linger with no identifiable reason for more than one month at the most. That being said, if they’ve been around for one year without change in size/shape/texture/orientation, then they’re probably fine - but technically hard to tell. ...Read more

For the past 8 weeks I have had many lymph nodes in my armpit swell up and go down with no signs of infection. Now there is a hard pea sized lump left?
Probably OK: This probably is good news. Whatever was causing your apparent lymph node enlargement probably is clearing up. It's normal for a few pea sized nodes to persist indefinitely after inflamed lymph nodes settle down, and many healthy people have such lumps in the neck, armpits or groin from distant past infections. But if the diagnosis was unknown or you remain concerned, follow up with your doctor. ...Read more

No appetite in months, lost weight, elongated lymph nodes in neck and armpit, elevated sed rate, but other blood work came back normal. What is it?
It depends: Enlarged lymph nodes need further evaluation especially if persistent. Did you go back to your family doctor for another checkup? Any x-rays? What type of blood work did you get? Most of the time, enlarged lymph nodes are a reaction to infection but sometimes can be from immune system diseases. In a young person, tumors are less likely but need to be considered. ...Read more

See details: Numerous issues can cause lymph node enlargement but the hard mass in the armpit does give one cause for concern. Bloods normal, spleen&liver normal, lymph nodes in neck, groin, armpits normal and chest xray normal. Any chance of having lymphoma still? Worried : (
Not routinely: Most of the lymph nodes in the axilla are located along the axillary vein which is high up in the axilla. There is a fat pad below the vein which is easily palpable and occasionally nodes there can be felt, even though very small. If they enlarge and increase in number then biopsy should be performed. Check the arm and chest wall on that side to be sure there are no responsible skin lesions ...Read more
