Normal Range For Troponin I
Troponin is an enzyme found in heart muscle, which is involved in the muscle fiber's ability to contract. It is extremely specific to heart muscle, and hence if levels are elevated in the blood, it points very confidently toward heart muscle damage as a cause of patient's symptoms. In fact, it is the test that is used to definitively ...Read more
Depends on lab, but: Depends alot on the lab you use: most run roughly from 0.3 to about 5.0. But - this is important - most endocrinologists now consider anything above (roughly) 2.0-2.5 to be elevated, meaning an under-active thyroid. See your doctor for more specifics. ...Read more
Should i be worried about sca?! normal ekgs(shows normal heartbeat, just fast) normal echo showed normal function normal stress test/normal blood work
Probably not: The risk of sca is very low in the young, healthy population. Unless you have a family history of sca or a genetic predisposition to sudden death, your risk should also be low. There is a risk calculator that can be applied to assess sca risk in patients undergoing surgery. It was developed by dr. Gupta and can be accessed at www.Qxmd.Com. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My last blood results showed a high TSH levels but t3andt4 in normal range. Should i see someone regarding hypotyhroidism?
Yes: An elevated TSH indicates that your pituitary gland feels that your thyroid level is somewhat low. The fact that the T4 and T3 (liothyronine) are normal means that the problem is still mild. If you have symptoms of an underactive thyroid, treatment with thyroid hormone is indicated. If you have no symptoms, and the TSH is only mildly high, one can repeat the level in a few months and see if it has changed. ...Read more

Reference range: What method was used for the test? What is reference range for the test? Different methods give different results. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Depends: It really depends on the assay used to check the levels. Most assays have a range for example from 0.3-->3. Some have up to 5. Most often there is no need to treat unless the number is > 10 unless the patient is pregnant or symptomatic. For Free t4 you need to see the reference range as it can vary from lab to lab quite a bit depending on the assay used. ...Read more

It is hard to fully answer this question without that information, so you are best discussing this with her doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Should i be scared of sca?! normal ekgs, normal echo shows normal function, normal stress test, normal blood work, overall..High anxiety?!
Dear all, I have these lab results: ck 152u/l, normal<190, ckmb 23 u/l, normal<24 troponin t <50, normal<50. Should i be worried? Thanks from brazil
What's the worry?: If your ekg is okay, the troponin t is not rising and is not beyond the reference range, and you have 'a little' chest pain that's not taking your breath away, you are not having a heart attack. That does not mean that you are not sick. A physical exam will let you know whether this is just chest wall pain as from overexertion, or whether to look farther. ...Read more

Out of a few normal ECGs one showed S1Q3T3 pattern, but doctors discharged me due to normal Ddimer and normal CXR, should I be worried?
You re correct: In that s1q3t3 is normally noticed in people with pulmonary embolism; however that's only in about 10 % of the population. It's right heart strain. If a Ddimer is neg. chances are that you do not have a thrombus. However, you will need to see a cardiologist as it could also mean a left ant. Fascicular block. See your cardio for a thorough explanation. The writing space is limited. ...Read more
