Should see your OB: You should have a blood pregnancy test done. A second one should be done 2 days later; the level typically doubles in that time if things are normal. ...Read more

Too Early: It is too early to see a definite gestational sac. Between 5 to 6 weeks it may be possible to see an early gestational sac, an early manifestation of pregnancy. The fetal heartbeat will usually be seen after 6 weeks on a transvaginal ultrasound. Be aware that there is a fairly high loss rate of very early pregnancies so get another sono after the middle of october to confirm viability. ...Read more

Concerning: Obviously there's not enough information here for us to answer this. Bleeding with a positive pregnancy test is concerning though and should be promptly evaluated by your doctor. Miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy must be excluded. ...Read more
