So sorry for yr loss: Miscarriage is very common--i believe 1 of 6 pregnancies results in a loss. The heart starts beating at a very early stage--ultrasound can detect at 4 wks, but it likely starts beating earlier than that. Beating heart this early just means it needs its own blood circulation, but as other organs develop, some are not compatible with life and so the miscarriage. When ready, try again.
