My Hcg doubling time went from 42 hours to 68 hours. Does this mean I'm most likely going to miscarry. ?

My Hcg doubling time went from 42 hours to 68 hours. Does this mean I'm most likely going to miscarry. ?

It really depends: The significance of doubling time depends on how far along you are in pregnancy. The rate of increase in HCG peaks at about 8-10 weeks then starts declining after that. If you're less than 8-10 weeks along, then a combination of symptoms, clinical judgment and serial ultrasounds are at least as important as HCG levels in determining the fate of your pregnancy. Please talk to your OB. ...Read more

At 8 weeks by hCG level was 110000 then at 9 weeks it was only 130000. Is it normal for it to plateau at this point? It has been doubling nicely up until this week. I have my first scan on wednesday

Normal: I am not sure why you are following HCG levels at this point in the pregnancy. An us is a much better way to confirm a viable pregnancy at this geatation. Hcg levels do plateau. ...Read more

My beta hcg was 59.6 progesterone 20.5 on 4/15. I was started on prog suppos. Today hcg 234.8, progesterone 27. Is 72.4 hrs doubling time ok?

Probably adequate: BHCG should increase by 66% every 48 hours. There can be variation though so this should not be used as a definitive tool to confirm pregnancy viability. ...Read more

I 'm approx 6 weeks. Hcg 1812 2days ago & 2724 today (52 hrs later). Doubling time about 68 hrs. Mean anything? No ultrasound for 10days. Thank you!

Difficult to say: It usually requires 3 values to fully determine a pattern. Since 10 days a hve passed a repeat ultrasound may be helful. Please discuss this with your ob. The values need to rise at least 60% in 48 hours. It does not need to precisely double in that time. ...Read more

Dpo/hcg levels: 14=233; 15=389; 16=683; 19=2821; 21=4643; 22=6533; 24=9596 (86 hrs doub. Time). Can high early hCG = earlier decline in doubling time?

Not really!: The 'doubling time' is not strict, it's a rough guide. Normal pregnancies may only go up by 2/3 in 2 days not 'twice.' furthermore each level is accurate to about +/- 15%, they are not 100%. Your numbers look normal, i wouldn't wear out your calculator doing this kind of thing. ...Read more

Irregular gestational sac with yolk and hCG doubling. Is there still a chance that irregularity may revert to normal?

Irregular gestational sac with yolk and hCG doubling. Is there still a chance that irregularity may revert to normal?

Possibly...: An irregular sac is a little confusing, but with the appearance of a yolk sac, one should see a fetal pole with heart motion within the next 72 to 96 hours, so hang in there! ...Read more

My hCG levels were at a 47 11dpo, 83 13dpo, and then a 193 dpi. Is that a normal doubling? Could I be having more than one?

My hCG levels were at a 47 11dpo, 83 13dpo, and then a 193 dpi. Is that a normal doubling? Could I be having more than one?

Unpredictable: Trends in the pregnancy hormone levels of multiple gestations are so unpredictable because they can have one placenta or more than one placenta, or one pregnancy could be a viable and the other could not, or both could be viable and so the rate of increase wouldn't really predict anything. the only way to know is an ultrasound when your levels reach 2000. ...Read more

Are you HCG levels normal or could it possibly be multiples? At 8dpo =13, 10dpo =57, 16dpo =1195 & 18dpo=2628. Numbers are high and doubling fast.

Ultrasound: There is wide variation on HCG levels in normal pregnancies for the levels to be reliable indicators of multiple embryos. Examination by ultrasound would be more reliable. See this site for HCG levels. http://www.babymed.com/hcg-level-in-early-pregnancy ...Read more

My hcg was 31 at 13dpiui and 50 at 15dpiui. My doctor didn't seem optimistic. It's about a 70hr doubling time. Can it still be ok?

My hcg was 31 at 13dpiui and 50 at 15dpiui. My doctor didn't seem optimistic. It's about a 70hr doubling time. Can it still be ok?

Yes: Over 48 hours, it should go up by 50% and not necessarily double. Keep following it. As long as its rising by 50% every 48 hours, you can still have a normal pregnancy. ...Read more

Varies: It still might be a bit early to see either the yolk sac or fetal pole, though honestly it shows up at variable times. While this could be a blighted ovum, I would repeat the US in 2 weeks. By 7 1/2 weeks you really should be seeing the fetal pole. ...Read more
