I'm ttc. My dr told to take follicular study on 12th day. My report was right ovary 42*34 mm sized cyst? Follicular cyst. Left small follicle.
Limited Information: Almost impossible to help you with this information. There are so many different scenarios this represents. The most likely is a left over follicle from the last cycle that didn't physically ovulate (lufs syndrome). This is not indicative of any serious problem. You could also have ovulated just before the u/s test. But based on no "ovulatory" follicle, ? Anovulatory cycle this time. ...Read more

Normal cycle.: You didn't say whether you were taking any medications to help with ovulation. Still, the picture you describe is what you would expect at this time in your cycle with the goal to ovulate around day 14 or 15. The only think a bit out of the ordinary may be that the lining is a bit thinner than we would like to see. ...Read more
I started menstruating on 13th. Should 13th be counted as day 1 for follicular study or 14th as day 1? When should I have an intercourse to conceive?
Day 1=menses day 1: Since you started menstruating on the 13th, this first day of menstrual bleeding is usually regarded as the first day of your cycle. Your fertile days (which are your best days to have sexual vaginal intercourse with a fertile man) are usually 1 to 3 before you ovulate to 1 1/2 day after ovulation. Ask your Gyn or pharmacist what are best methods to determine your monthly ovulation/fertile days ...Read more
Hi I have pcod had Clomid (clomiphene) 50mg second time follicular study on 10th day my lt ovary follicle is 8mm my right ovary there is septate follicleof 16mm do?
May be ovulatory: With pcos, the ovary tries to produce and release an egg but is unable to really get the egg to release. The ovarian cysts that contain an egg will grow and generally when they get to 2 cm=20mm are considered mature and ready to release an egg. The cysts you are describing sound small. The proof of whether you go on to release the egg will be seen in whether you menstruate or get pregnant. ...Read more
Long follicullar phase but normal 14 day luteal phase. Is this ok? What causes long follicular phase what can I do? Always ovulate around cd 25
Keep body weigh down: Although premature death of the dominant follicle followed by replacement or follicular suppression are possible causes, the most common reason for long follicular phases in women is prolongation of the time from recruitment to emergence of the dominant follicle. This is most commonly seen in PCOS. You are ovulating and menstruating, so that is good. There is not much for you to do. ...Read more
In my follicular report its 2 dominant follicles in left ovary. One got released on day 14 and other on 18th. Which day will b considered as ovulation?
Atypical: It is not clear exactly what is going on or how the doctor concluded what occurred on day 14 and day 18. It is clear that you are currently receiving care though from a doctor. I would schedule follow up with that doctor doing these tests and ask for clarification on the current treatment and plan. ...Read more
On my 12th day follicular study my ovary size is 38x23 and 33x26 ovaries are large with small cyst and endometrial thickness 7.7 what is meant by this?
It is a phase: During the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle, hormonal changes causes follicular cysts to form in the ovaries and increase in thickness of the lining of the uterus. This coincides when a woman feels abdominal bloating, heaviness, and even moody. This phase is immediately followed by menstrual flow which makes the cysts shrink and allow the lining of the uterus to go back to normal. ...Read more

It depends: The best time to monitor your follicle growth after Clomid (clomiphene) depends your cycle length. For a woman with 28 day cycle, the best time for follicle monitoring is about CD 12-13, because ovulation usually occurs on CD 14. You may also use OPK to determine your ovulation date. Good luck! ...Read more

Expected values for someone who is pregnant, or on birth control pills, or who should be ovulating at the time could all differ. ...Read more

What are your goals?: The follicular phase varies from person to person. The luteal phase is consistently about 14 days. Instead of thinking about these phases determine your goals. If your goal is cycle regulation then birth control methods can help. If your goal is pregnancy then a home ovulation kit would help. You would expect to ovulate 14 days before your next anticipated period. ...Read more

Ovulation: This health app is a revolution that may change the world. Millions of women, it appears, do not know the simple basic facts about fertility. You can only get pregnant when you ovulate. This means that semen has to be present when the follicle spits out the fresh egg. That means yes, you could possibly have gotten pregnant from the intercourse on the 25th. But the other days were too late. ...Read more
