UTI probably: Extensive work up is reassuring. Yes chronic cystitis and urinary tract infection could cause low to mid back pain especially if there is an extension causing kidney infection. Almost: The CT colonoscopy should cover the entire abdomen. However, to limit radiation and depending on where your colon is seen, the scan may be shortened. Usually it covers everything. Contrast injections are needed to help identify hidden lesions in the blood vessels, liver and kidney which is not used in CTC. Didn't get to see it: "Excluded" means it wasn't in the pictures. Somehow, the tech or someone made a mistake and didn't get enough pictures. The abdomen starts at the diaphragm (which covers the top, or dome, of the liver on the right side). A CT of the abdomen should go from the diaphragm through the pelvis. However, in your case they started lower down - missing the top (or dome) of the liver. ...Read more
