Normal Cholesterol Levels At Age 40
How long take go from high cholesterol of 8.2 level to normal level? I am 32 year old women. I stop smoking and replaced for e-cig. Can I die?
Vegetables: Cholesterol numbers are usually less than 140 being very good, so it is extremely unlikely your cholesterol is "8.2." That being said, cholesterol in the diet is only found in animal products (meat, eggs, dairy). So if you eliminate animal products from your diet (vegan diet), the effect on cholesterol can be quite dramatic, often without the need for medications.

Hai I am 24 years old man, have cholesterol level is 201mg/dl and sgpt is 94U/L tested before having food Is it normal or?
94 IU/L not normal: Your total cholesterol level is acceptable at 201 mg/dl, but it would be significantly lower in many young men your age. The more concerning thing is the SGPT/ALT liver enzyme. It is about double the normal (usual normal is 10-40 IU/L). Liver inflammation from excess weight, medications, or alcohol intake are most common causes, but more serious hepatitis could be present. See your doctor:)
I'm 21 years old and I have a very normal weight, but tests showed that I have a high blood cholesterol level, is it a normal thing? And what can I do
Seeyour Family Doc: Blood lipid levels can be a function of both genetic and environmental factors. Some people are genetically pre-disposed to elevated lipid levels, while others are just taking in too many lipids. It is best to talk with your family doc about this to determine cause and treatment.

41 year old healthy male. Total cholesterol of 235. LDL of 151, HDL of 66, Trigs of 91. Should I be concerned about LDL levels? I exercise/eat well
Yes: Depending on your family history and other risk factors you may need medical treatment for prevention of cardiovascular disease. It would be prudent to discuss it with the doctor who ordered these tests. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Hi im 27 year old and im suffering with high cholesterol level. My question is it safe to use L-glutamine in my daily routine?
Why?: Glutamine is a normal component of your diet and somebody's trying to sell you something you don't need for anything. Eat some protein instead. If you cholesterol is extremely high, your life's in danger and you can be treated effectively with real medicine. If it's just a bit high, it's lifestyle changes first, real medications if this fails.

A 50 year old female's carotid ultrasound reported mild plaque. Her cholesterol etc. Are good. Previously, she had high homocysteine level. Is any treatment needed at this time?
Carotid stenosis: We don't worry until "severe" description of the plaques, occluded 95%. At this point the risk increases for plaque to break off and cause a stroke. There is no indication to treat the "mild" condition. Be sure to control any hypertension, keep your cholesterol at goal, and take a 81mg Aspirin everyday after age 50 if you physician recommends it based on your risk factors.See 3 more doctor answers
I'm a f/m 30 year old non smoker of 3 yrs. Normal ecgs, blood work & good cholesterol. What are my exact chances od suffering a Sudden Cardiac Arrest?
No one can tell: But you have much less chances than others who have risk factors like obesity, smoking, heart disease, uncontrolled diabetes, etc... There are several factors in the equation, your only bailout is to lead a healthy life style. As for life expectancy, there are websites with calculators the give you an estimate, but no guarantee, best wishes

Chest pain: It sounds like it may be musculoskeletal but always good to ensure. Ice packs and moist heat will definitely help me move in the right direction with gentle stretching and massaging. This type of pain can be very painful so an Ibuprofen may help to. Make sure you take deep breaths or else you may be at risk for a lung infection from taking shallow breaths.See 2 more doctor answers
27 year old female, 5'6, " 262.4 lbs, ekg: normal, holter monitor (48 hours): normal, cholesterol: ldl- 111, hdl- 49. Chest pain related to heart?
Chest pain: Not enough data for more than a guess. Its probably not cardiac related, BUT, you are at increased risk. You are morbidly obese and weigh roughly 100 #s more than you should. Each pound of flesh equals about a mile of blood vessels. So, your heart, a pump the size of your fist has to pump blood 100 miles further than it should. If you smoke, use illicit drugs or drink the risk is higher.
