Yes: This is normal. You will have some thinning of the cervix as you get closer to the time of delivery. It is supposed to be closed and firm at 30 weeks, but it is normal if it gets somewhat shorter. ...Read more

Probably Probably: The normal cervix is about 35mm to 50mm. However a cervix of 25 mm, while considered shortened, is still normal. The shorter cervix may correlate to a greater chance for early delivery, but probably has nothing to do with PPROM. ...Read more
