Normal Body Temperature Forehead
Why would my face, forehead and arms be hot like a fever, but my body temperature is only 98.1. What doesn't add up and how to fix it? Thank you
See a doctor: Without the ability to take a full history and examine you it is nearly impossible to answer this question. Flushing of the face can be due to many different things without affecting your core body temperature. If it persists, please see your local family doctor.
Sweaty head: 25% of blood volume of adult is in head. Even more in babies. No worries.
It will not: Address the symptoms of congestion. It can be taken for fever or pain. It will not make your already "low" temperature lower.
Symptoms: dizziness, scratchy throat, head ache, low energy, general body pain, feel like screaming. Low body temperature, low appetite, lack of sleep. Sore skin. (female-41yo)?
Don't Worry: You should mention it & have your regular md record your baseline temp so that if you have what is considered a "normal" they know that indicates a low-grade fever for you. Normal temps, etc. Are averages and some are a little above or below for their normal but knowing your normal will help your doctors treat you better when you have problems.
Sleep disorder: Certain sleep disorders can trigger the release of stress hormones (cortisol) which can then cause the production of catecholamines. These can increase heart rate, blood pressure and elevate body temperature...Causing sweating. Someone trained in sleep medicine can order some tests and provide more information, if desired.
Fever: 100.4 F is considered a fever for everyone. We all have a slight variation from 98.6 F which is a statistically derived normal temperature. By convention 100.4 F is deemed an abnormal temperature or a fever. We do not adjust that definition for individuals.
Usually: If you're on the correct dose of brand name T4 replacement, your body temperature should be relatively normal.See 1 more doctor answer
My husband has a sudden lower than normal body temperature with chills and shivers - what could cause this?
A number of things: There are many possible reasons for chills, and it may just be an idiosyncratic thing; however, one concern would be for an infection. If it persists or has other accompanying symptoms, seek medical attention urgently.
My arm hairs are standing up. And even when I'm at normal body temperature and sometimes I feel them move by them self,?
Arrector pili muscle: You are feeling the Arrector pili muscles in your skin and arms contracting, and causing the hair to stand up. This is part of your normal body temperature regulation, and can happen in warm and cold settings. Do not be alarmed that you have noticed the muscles doing their job, many people are able to perceive this motion. Interestingly, these are the same muscles that give you goose bumps.

98.6 degrees: The normal body temperature has long been thought to be 98.6 degrees fahrenheit, but there are several factors that affect body temperature. Normal body temperature varies by person and can also increase or decrease as a person ages, changes environment, changes diet or alters medication. Temperature readings can also vary slightly based on the method of temperature reading and the time of day.
