Normal Blood Pressure Range For Elderly

Blood pressure is a measurement of the force placed on the blood vessels and is comprised of the "systolic" pressure (the top number on a blood pressure meter) which is the peak pressure when the heart is pumping, and the "diastolic" pressure (the bottom number on a blood pressure meter) which is the pressure during the resting phase ...Read more

Systolic BP: Follow the top number -- for children to age 12 and average size, the top number (systolic) should not go above 110 at rest.
Normal BP: 100-120's over 60-80's would be normal for your age
Blood pressure: If a 102 year old person has a blood pressure that they've survived that long with, probably its fine.
What are normal blood pressure readings for a 25yr old with no health problems? Where should they range from? Mines 113/65 is this to low the bottom?
113/65 is good: There's a wide range of what's "normal". That depends on body type, family history, diet, exercise and underlying disease. What's normal for you may be low or high for the next patient. If your not passing out when you stand up and are not having any cognitive difficulties, I'd say your BP is great.
140/85 or LESS: Your BP should be 140/85 or less at rest. It is normal for it to go up with activity and stress. You should check your BP after resting for 5 min. Females typically have low bp. I would not worry about low numbers unless you feel tired or dizzy. Young, skinny, healthy females typically have BP of 90/60 without problems.
Less than 140/90: Normal BP: Systolic lower than 120 mm Hg, diastolic lower than 80 mm Hg. Prehypertension (means above the normal but not high enough to call it high BP): Systolic 120-139 mm Hg, diastolic 80-89 mm Hg. High blood BP is any value above 140/90. I hope this helps.
120/80: Normal NORMAL blood pressure is 120/80. As we age, both numbers can drift up, so 130/80 wouldn't be too worrisome although lower is better. If your bottom number is going up (90 or more) then you are starting to show some sign your body is reacting to a higher than normal blood pressure, and it is time to ask about how to prevent its going even higher. Yes, but...: Most would consider this a fairly appropriate blood pressure, and indeed if one has the diagnosis of hypertension, this is in appropriate range. Officially, a blood pressure between 120 - 139 over 80-89, is considered "prehypertension".
Blood pressure: Blood pressure normals are a range and fairly wide on the low side. Anything over 140/90 we consider high, on the low side if you feel well, even 80/50 would be ok.
There is a range: Ideal BP is below 120/70, acceptable BP is below 130/80. Consistent readings above these ranges need to be monitored and treated under the care of your physician.
