Normal B12 Level Range
TSH: The range varies from one lab to another. When/if you get thyroid labs done please make sure they share the correct reference intervals with you. Preferably don't go from one lab to another - they are all good - just different methods. ...Read more
Positive anti-TPO or: Anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies means antibodies are present which act against thyroid cells leading to hypothyroidism. Mayo clinic cites that values >9.0 iu/ml as generally associated with autoimmune thyroiditis, but elevations are also seen in other autoimmune diseases. Other labs may differ so it is important to speak with physician regarding lab result interpretation. ...Read more
Depends on lab, but: Depends alot on the lab you use: most run roughly from 0.3 to about 5.0. But - this is important - most endocrinologists now consider anything above (roughly) 2.0-2.5 to be elevated, meaning an under-active thyroid. See your doctor for more specifics. ...Read more

Lab variation: This is usually not alarming. It is usually considered lab variation. Most of the time the ordering physician considers the reason they ordered the test, and decides if the variation has any significance in relation to that reason. If so, then they sometimes re-order at a future date to see if it indicates a certain directional trend. ...Read more
High Total T, high SHBG, low Free T, very high FSH (22.8), normal LH, normal prolactin, low estradiol, normal TSH, normal metabolic and CBC. Ideas?
Hormone tests: By themselves, without context, these labs don't say much of anything. They are confusing, and beg the question of why they are being done. Best to see an Endocrinologist. ...Read more
TSH: Depending on your symptoms, other thyroid labs, and whether you're being treated for a thyroid problem, normal TSH range is 0.4 - 4.0 miu/l (milli-international units per liter). If being treated the range is usually tighter, between 0.5 and 2.0 miu/l. Treatment decisions need more data than TSH alone, though. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Thyroid blood test: normal tsh, and normal t 4, slightly lower free t3 (liothyronine). What is a normal TSH level?
0.4-4.5: In most labs, the normal TSH ranges between 0.4 and 4.5. Most people have TSH levels under 2.5. One can still be normal with higher TSH levels, but if you have hypothyroid symptoms, a mildly high TSH could be a sign of developing hypothyroidism. Free T3 (liothyronine) levels are not accurate in many labs, so a slightly low level may be meaningless. You should see an endocrinologist if you have symptoms. ...Read more
0.5 - 5.0: In general, people with no known thyroid conditions will have TSH values between 0.5 and 5.0. Each lab determines its own normal range, and the lower limit can range from 0.2 - 0.6, and the upper limit from 2.5 to 6.0. There are some doctors who feel that the upper limit of normal is too high and that treatment should be considered for anyone with symptoms and TSH over 2.5 to 3.0. ...Read more

Does a very low level TSH hormone mean hypo - or hyperthyroidism? T3 (liothyronine) is normal range, T4 is at the low level borderline.
Low TSH: Generally indicates an excess in thyroid hormone. That may be chronic w/hyperthyroidism -- or temporary w/thyroid inflammation. See you doctor. If you're already on thyroid replacement, the dose is too high. If you're on t3, (liothyronine) get off of it as it can be dangerous and doesn't work well as chronic replacement. Use brand name T4 only. ...Read more
