My baby(boy, 1.5 yrs, 11kg) is hving loose motions since 2 weeks.Less interestd in eating food nw.His activities are normal. Teething? Normal?

Teething symptoms: Some children do get a low grade fever, diarrhea and drooling. You can treat them simultaneously. Ibuprofen is more effective for teething than tylenol (acetaminophen). My son's temperature is 103.6 he is smiling but tired runny nose?

Fever runny nose: Poor baby! You did not mention age. If he is 30 days or less he needs an emergency room visit now. In older babies, who have had contacts with illness, and clear signs of a new viral cold (congestion) we can watch him at home. I'm glad to see he's giving you some smiles. Keep him hydrated and if he appears ill a dose of Motrin is ok ( if he's over six months) hope He's better soon! ...Read more

7 mo old runny nose cough no Fever Drainage out of ear looks like wax, no odor. Might be teething. Mildly fussy sleeping normal ear infection or no?

Cold: symptoms as you described will make a baby fussy as they do not like nasal congestion. It does not sound like your baby has an ear infection. Just observe for now and offer comfort as you can. A cold should resolve in a few days and until it does expect a crabby baby. ...Read more

Or maybe this is a virus that will run its course. There are two ways to tell: you can give it more time, but you run the risk of worsening infection, or you could get a doc who knows the difference to examine her. ...Read more
