If I have any side effects from BC when will I notice them? After the first pill? Trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol)
I take Trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) & Celexa. Are they known to cause side effects when taken together? I've been having severe nausea & morning sickness since day one.
Unsure: Either one can cause nausea. Did you start them at the same time? Some women get nausea the first month on oral contraceptives. Some people also get nausea initially on celexa. Since you describe it as morning sickness, I would lean toward the trinessa (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) as the cause. ...Read more

Breakthrough bleed: Sounds like breakthrough bleeding which occurs when you have bleeding at unscheduled times while on the pill. Often things get back to normal the next cycle. Will a higher dosage of birth control pill help with vaginal dryness that ortho tri cyclen (ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate) lo caused? Do monophasic pills have less side effects?
Hormone punctuality: If the question involves taking oral contraceptives , today's BCP's are extremely low in content of both hormones. Consequently, if not taken within the hour of the previous day, withdrawal bleeding can occur. Additionally, they should be taken in the evening, so that the lowest blood levels do not occur in the early hours of the AM. PMS symptoms can occur if late. ...Read more

On previfem (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol) & missed a pill & took it next day; a couple of days later I took it 3-4 hours after. Is it a missed pill, do I need back up or am I okay?
Probably ok: a few hours late isn't a missed pill, but you are on a generic birth control. It never hurts to use a backup. In fact at your age we see tons of pregnancies on the pill, so why not get your partner in the habit of using a condom. You'll be happy you did that when you can say you've been free of HPV and/or other STDs years down the road. ...Read more
