They are not: Much different except for the amount of acetaminophen each contains. Both contain 5 mg of hydrocodone which is the active narcotic ingredient. Norco 5/325 mg has 325 mg of acetaminophen, and Vicodin 5/300 mg contains 300 mg. They are also branded differently as you can see. Hope this helps. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap. ...Read more
I've taken norco's for years, I don't want the fusion surgery suggested, and my insurance won't cover injections, I need stronger medication?
Not right action: Chronic narcotic medication for back pain will continue to lead to increasing doses due to tolerance issues & needs to be addressed via multifaceted approach that usually does not include a fusion which accounts for 10% of patients. See a pain management specialist for further treatment options other than injection, exercise, weight control, avoidance of tobacco, good sleep habits all play role. ...Read more

I've been taking norcos pills for 2 years and I just found out I'm 2 months pregnant. Should I stop taking them right away or should I wait?
Neonatal abstinence syndrome (withdrawal) is an expected and treatable condition that follows prenatal exposure to opioid agonists such as Norco. However why not get off these medications and spare the baby and spare you the worry?
I would work with your Prescriber to wean you off this medication now. You do not need to have a baby born with the potential to have withdrawal at birth. ...Read more
I accidently somehow took 2 5/325mg norco. Then I guess I forgot that I took them already and took 2 more. That was 1.5 hours ago, will I die?
Must be careful: Accidental overdose with Norco is one big reason why people are getting hurt and dying. If you are feeling tired, lethargic, shortness of breath, sleepy or other symptoms go to the ER. Most likely you will not be harmed this time, but you must be very very careful with these pain medications. Follow only your doctors regime, don't share meds, don't drink, and use the least amount necessary. ...Read more

Can an e.R. Give me meds to put in. My socket like my dentist? My dentist has no ER #! im out of my brown socket meds and 8 norcos!
Dry socket pain: You will most likely spend hours in the emergency room only to be given pain medication, perhaps an antibiotic and told to see your dentist in the morning. Even if the hospital has a dental department, they may not see you as this is not considered a true emergency. I would not go to a dentist or physician who had no emergency notification system in place. See if your local pharmacy has something. ...Read more
I was prescribed amoxicillin and Norco but I have not really needed the Norco for pain. Can the amoxicillin be easing my pain on its own?
I take 10mg of norco/day. I break it up into quarters; 2.5mg 4x day. If my last 2.5mg was wed morn at 6am, will I test pos for hydrocodone by fri?
First, the physicians here are not, in any way, interested in helping you beat a drug test. We believe in health and being 'clean' from the substances that one can abuse. We believe sobriety and recovery are possible and a solution to the disease of addiction.
Second, yes, you will test positive on friday. ...Read more

A lot more: Kadian (extended release morphine) has the same pain reducing potency (mg for mg) as hydrocodone, which is in norco. The 325 in Norco 325 refers to the tylenol (acetaminophen) dose. Usually there is another number (5 or 10) preceding it (eg. Norco 5/325) which indicates the hydrocodone dose. So Kadian 50 is like 10 Norco 5/325s. Beware: taking greater than 3000 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen) per day can cause severe liver damage. ...Read more
