Can you take flexeril 5mg bid and norco 10/325 together at the same time for knee pain injury and spasms it hurting bad.
Yes: Muscle relaxants and hydrocodone/acetaminophen combinations (and others opioids as well) are very commonly given together. They are both CNS depressants, and the effects can be synergistic or additive, meaning that 1+1 may equal 2 or 6. Don't drive or operate dangerous machinery or do anything requiring full motor skills after taking either drug (or both) until you know how they effect you. ...Read more
My dr gave me Norco 10/325 & Phenergan (promethazine) 25 Mg For Knee Injury. & Gave Me Flexeril 5 Mg. Can I take all of them together or space them out by 2 hours.
All are sedating: This could be potently sedating cocktail for someone who is not already used-to (tolerant to) these medications. If instructions are unclear I would ask the prescribing doc how he or she intends you to take these. Usually Norco is taken preferentially as-needed for pain. Phenergan (promethazine) would be taken if you get nausea or itching from the Norco. Flexeril, however has a less clear role in knee injury ...Read more

My pcp Dr gave me Norco 10 for knee injury. My rheumatologist gave me Flexeril 5mg BID. Can you take both of them. At the same time or space it out.
Better separate: They are not the same type of medication, one is a pain medication and one is a muscle relaxant. Because both have the capability of causing sedation, it would be safer to take one then wait to ensure no side affects and then later if you still need something to take, take the other. ...Read more

Muscle spasm in L shoulder blade region/neck 1mo. Ago. Rx Ibu, Flexeril, and Norco. Severe pain again could it be something else? Or flared up stress
Cerv. Radiculopathy: Hello Rachel. Your problem sounds like it is coming from your neck. I am interpreting your spasm complaint as coming from your neck as a result of a disc issue or issues causing a radicular issue, likely with the C3-4, C4-5 or C5-6 discs and irritation of the segmental nerve or nerve on that same side from one of those levels. You need a cervical spine MRI and treatment possible. Good luck! ...Read more
Is it safe to to take flexeril approx 5 hours after taking norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen)? I take 15mgs norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 2 or 3 times a day. Trying to wean off of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).
Depends: Flexeril is a muscle relaxant with sedative properties. Driving and using alcohol are not recommended. Narcotics such as Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can cause respiratory depression. Some medical conditions can complicate the use of medications, so care must be taken when using this combination of drugs. Therefore, it is best to consult your treating physician. ...Read more

Probably but...: My sincerest condolences for your loss. The post-epidural blood patch, while very effective for spinal headache, can add to your risk of post-pregnancy depression. Examine your motives for wanting to take the combination of meds carefully. Emotional pain is expected and appropriate at this time. Be safe, talk about your emotions with a trusted person. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and want to stop norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and flexeral. Is it safe? I take 6 norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) a day. How should I go about stopping so no withdrawals?
Slowly taper: In the states we would put you on either Methadone or Buprenorphine during pregnancy and then taper after. Since that may not be an option, do a slow taper, go down to 5 pills a day for 5 days and then 4 a day for 5 days and so on. We don't usually try to detox pregnant patients since the stress can trigger early labor. Discuss your options with your ob. ...Read more
