Non Stop Coughing With Lung Cancer
Male 21. Non smoker active lifestyle. I seem to be getting frequent colds with little cough about every other month. How likely is lung cancer?
Essentially zero: Although there is some data suggesting that lung cancer occurs at a bit younger age in never-smokers compared with smokers, in the absence of (for instance) immune system deficiency or underlying lung disease or the presence of cancer elsewhere in the body which could spread to the lungs, the likelihood of lung cancer at age 21 in an otherwise healthy non-smoker is virtually zero. ...Read more

Pain in upper right back. Slight cough for 2 months. 2 xrays and bloods. All fine. Highly anxious now. Could I have lung cancer. ?
Stop worrying: I can't promise you don't have a tiny lung cancer. You're a never-smoker, you're young, you have a "slight cough" (been checked for cough-variant asthma?), and most back pain never gets a hard diagnosis. Fretting about one of the least likely diagnoses is doing you no good. If you recognize this as unrealistic, your physician can help you address cancer phobia.
