Why the restriction?: Why are you restricting your food in this way? People do occasionally fast for religious, spiritual, and/or health reasons -- but I do not sense this from you. It is not a healthy method for controlling weight or weight loss. If focusing on food restriction recurrently, you could be developing the eating disorder called anorexia nervosa. Yes: Absolutely. Probably it s about the lenght of time between the bingeing and the purging and also the magnitude of it. Insulin gets released "trusting" that food will be processed. However, it would be the best to get treatment and not have this dangerous episodes occur again. ...Read more

Yes: yes the two conditions can have overlap in the compensatory self injurious behavior following overeating, the distinguishing feature is the bulemics tend to be overweight as tend to overeat more but underweight with anorexia as they tend to restric calories more then overeat. treatment is similar for both with multidisciplinary approach involving psychologocal counseling and SSRI therapy. ...Read more
