Why the restriction?: Why are you restricting your food in this way? People do occasionally fast for religious, spiritual, and/or health reasons -- but I do not sense this from you. Binging on food?: Both binging on food and purging by vomiting are part of bulimia -- and the whole process is an illness requiring treatment. Trying to do this on your own is not likely to be successful. I've seen many people who tried to contain this for years before coming to treatment. Is it possible to have both bulimia and anorexia and what is the outcome? I go from barley eating at all then to eating then purging, its like a cycle
Yes: yes the two conditions can have overlap in the compensatory self injurious behavior following overeating, the distinguishing feature is the bulemics tend to be overweight as tend to overeat more but underweight with anorexia as they tend to restric calories more then overeat. treatment is similar for both with multidisciplinary approach involving psychologocal counseling and SSRI therapy. ...Read more
