This is the same as red blood cells in urine. This should be confirmed by a microscopic look at the urine. Could be coming from anywhere from the kidney ureters or bladder.

Dr. Jack Rubin answered:

Possible causes of low back pain, micro blood in urine in healthy, 32 y/o non-smoking woman?Had CT of kidnys and it was normal.Meds for inf not work.

Hematuria

Hematuria
Your hematuria (H) does not seem to be due to a lesion in your kidneys. Do you have a urinary tract infection (UTI)? Your statement, "Meds for not not work work", implies that you may have one. If you have no UTI, you may need a cystoscopy to see if your bladder is the source of your H. A urologist can do this test. If negative, you may have a glomerulonephritis causing your H, see a nephrologist.

My wife is 51 and very healthy non smoker . She has had extreme fatigue , blood in urine, localized left flank pain. Ct scan was neg for kidney stones?

Infection or tumor

Computerized_axial_tomography
The most likely reason is infection of the kidney...your doctor will check the urine and prescribe antibiotics. A less likely reason is a tumor in the kidney or nearby. This may need a urologists help. It could still be a kidney stone that was not seen on the CT, which also needs a urologists help.

Recent Ct scan: non-obstr kidney stone, diverticulitis, thickening of bladder. Have to wait 2wks for followup, despite blood in urine/pain. Is ths OK?

2 Few Puzzle Pieces

Kidney_stone
You are describing a lot of significant findings, but w/o the clinical context needed to give you an intelligent answer. By CT alone, it sounds like acute diverticulitis. Were you hospitalized? What is/was your exam like? What does your labwork show? Any prior episodes? I advise you to discuss your concerns w/your primary care Dr. Good luck!
