Lung nodules : Are very common and the vast majority are not cancer (over 95%). A growing nodule has to be evaluated as if it is cancer until proven otherwise. This usually means a pet scan followed by surgery if it is "avid" or further tests (biopsy, serial ct scans) if it is not. A tiny calcific density in the right lung.what does it mean?what is the cause of them?where did it from?
I need a great explanation.
thank you so much
No worries: You did not describe the density's lung location. In the upper part of the lung, it may be a residue from old TB infection. But then you would likely have multiple ones. For your age, I say old healed infection. Hope that helps. ...Read more

No quick cure: For this. If it is calcified, it means that it has been there already for some time. It is most likely old infection, such as tuberculosis, so make sure you get checked out for TB and treated if necessary. Other infection or damage can cause it too. You need to see a doctor in any event. ...Read more

I have bronchitis when i was young. I am smoking. And my recent X-ray found calcific granuloma on my upper right lung. What could cause my granuloma?
TB: The most likely cause would be healed tuberculosis in which case you should have a positive TB skin test or blood test such as quantiferon TB gold test. If one of these is positive at your age wou would need treatment for latent tuberculosis. Some fungal infections can also cause calcified granulomata in the lungs. ...Read more
