Does the skin rash blanch if your baby has diaper rash?

Does the skin rash blanch if your baby has diaper rash?

The fastest treatment for diaper dermatitis is to take off the diaper. While that may mean somebody will have to follow the baby around with a pooper scooper, the rash will clear very quickly. ...Read more

My infant daughter has a reddish lump that blanches on her upper thigh. I am not sure if this is a bruise or a rash? She has no fever or other symptom

Needs eval: Reddish lump in an infant could be a vascular swelling or abormality sometimes. It can also be bruising due to trauma. If is not not painful (diffult to tell in an infant ) and no fever is present, swelling is usually not an infection. Make sure her pediatrician evaluates her swelling. ...Read more

RMSF?: I think i answered your question previously regarding rmsf. The results of the CBC with normal WBC and high lymphocyte count represents more of a viral infection with a rash. Further monitoring of the rash seems prudent. If the rash progresses, does not blanch and looks like blood clots, a repeat CBC may be necessary to look for decreasing platelet count found in rmsf. ...Read more
