Is h pylori so dangerous it has been one month after my therapy im still havig gas. Is is sign of some cancer?

Not a good bug: H. Pylori causes problems in the stomach by initiating a superficial ulceration near the cardio-esophageal junction. Healing of the ulcer is unique in that it does not occur from surrounding mucosa but rather by bone marrow stem cells migrating to heal the ulcer. H. pylori bugs release a toxin converting the stem cells to a malignant lesion. Antibiotics needed when H.pylori is active.

How could methylating agents be used in general in treatment of cancer?

How could methylating agents be used in general in treatment of cancer?

Possible demethyl: A consideration into alternate causes of cancer is that they may also be an epigenetic disease. The main modification in such tumors would be DNA methylation which turns a gene product off. Patterns of aberrant DNA methylation are now recognized to be common in many human tumors. One major findings is inactivation of tumor-suppressor genes by CpG-island hypermethylation of the CpG islands

Why doesn't cancer treatment end after remission is achieved?

Which cancer?: Adjuvant (post surgery) treatment does have an end. Some metastatic treatments usually end at a maximum number of cycles of therapy (eg lung cancer - 6). Some treatments are continued in the advanced/metastatic setting until progressive disease or toxicity because they have been proven to (or thought to) improve survival.

It is a form of Radi: Cobalt-60 was the first form of radiotherapy developed and used successfully to treat cancer. However it has now been mostly replaced by more modern and safer radiotherapy machines. So it in now only used in the poor countries because of lower costs of cobalt machines than the modern linac -machines.

If gamma rays are poisoning, why are they used for cancer treatment?

If gamma rays are poisoning, why are they used for cancer treatment?

Kill cancer cells.: While no test is 100% effective, gamma rays can be directed to kill mostly cancer cells. Radiation treatment for cancer consists of multiple, concentrated beams of gamma rays directed at the tumor to kill the cancer cells. These are directed at different angles in order to concentrate the rays on the cancer while minimizing damage to the surrounding normal tissue.

Why to do chemotherapy if cancer cells can still be left behind for reccrrence after the treatment? Doesn;t chemo kill all the cells?

Why to do chemotherapy if cancer cells can still be left behind for reccrrence after the treatment? Doesn;t chemo kill all the cells?

Cure is our goal...: Some people can be completely cured of their cancer using chemotherapy, while others eventually relapse and their cancer comes back. Our goal with chemotherapy is to rid the body of all cancer cells, but sometimes this doesn't work. We are not that good at predicting upfront who will be cured and who will relapse, so that is why we try and see what happens. This is an area of intense research.
