Noble Gas Used For Treatment Of Cancer
Is h pylori so dangerous it has been one month after my therapy im still havig gas. Is is sign of some cancer?
Not a good bug: H. Pylori causes problems in the stomach by initiating a superficial ulceration near the cardio-esophageal junction. Healing of the ulcer is unique in that it does not occur from surrounding mucosa but rather by bone marrow stem cells migrating to heal the ulcer. H. pylori bugs release a toxin converting the stem cells to a malignant lesion. Antibiotics needed when H.pylori is active.See 1 more doctor answer
Cancer is a group of diseases that is characterized by uncontrolled cell growth leading to invasion of surrounding tissues that spread to other parts of the body. Cancer can begin anywhere in the body and is usually related to one or more genetic mutations that allow normal cells to become malignant by interfering with internal cellular control mechanisms, such as programmed cell death or by preventing ...Read more
Possible demethyl: A consideration into alternate causes of cancer is that they may also be an epigenetic disease. The main modification in such tumors would be DNA methylation which turns a gene product off. Patterns of aberrant DNA methylation are now recognized to be common in many human tumors. One major findings is inactivation of tumor-suppressor genes by CpG-island hypermethylation of the CpG islands
Radiation dose: Gamma rays, a name for electromagnetic radiation emitted by atoms, are used to treat cancer in many ways. For example radioactive isotopes of iodine or palladium atoms are used to treat prostate cancer, by putting in the radioactivity directly into the prostate.See 2 more doctor answers
Which cancer?: Adjuvant (post surgery) treatment does have an end. Some metastatic treatments usually end at a maximum number of cycles of therapy (eg lung cancer - 6). Some treatments are continued in the advanced/metastatic setting until progressive disease or toxicity because they have been proven to (or thought to) improve survival.See 1 more doctor answer
See Taxol (paclitaxel): Karlitaxel is Paclitaxel (better known under the trademark taxol), made by an indian company, used to treat cancer patients. Side effects include nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, change in taste, thinned or brittle hair, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, changes in the color of the nails and tingling. More serious side effects such as unusual bleeding, shortness of breath, exhaustion.
Incomplete info: From the information provided, it is not feasible to know why you cannot have penetrative intercourse. Sexual satisfaction may be possible even if penetration is not practical. To provide a more meaningful suggestion, one would need to address specific issues through physical examination and discussion. Please raise the issue with your doctor.
Radiation source: Used as source for radiation especially in the developing world. Replaced by linear accelerators in the developed world.
Dr said I had a polyp that was the next step before cancer. What treatment options are usually used im 61 years old.
Have researched and learned that cobalt-60 can be used in the treatment of cancer but could u please give me more info?
It is a form of Radi: Cobalt-60 was the first form of radiotherapy developed and used successfully to treat cancer. However it has now been mostly replaced by more modern and safer radiotherapy machines. So it in now only used in the poor countries because of lower costs of cobalt machines than the modern linac -machines.See 1 more doctor answer
Have researched and learned that cobalt-60 can be used in the treatment of cancer but could you please give me more info about this?
Used for teletherapy: Synthetic radioactive isotope of cobalt. Used for external beam radiation in past. Other uses for 60co are: as a tracer for cobalt in chemical reactions. Sterilization of medical equipment, pest insect sterilization. Radiation source for ndustrial radiography, for leveling devices and thickness gauges, food irradiation & blood irradiation and as a radiation source for laboratory use.
Kill cancer cells.: While no test is 100% effective, gamma rays can be directed to kill mostly cancer cells. Radiation treatment for cancer consists of multiple, concentrated beams of gamma rays directed at the tumor to kill the cancer cells. These are directed at different angles in order to concentrate the rays on the cancer while minimizing damage to the surrounding normal tissue.See 2 more doctor answers
I have prostate cancer (no methastesis). I won't have any treatment. How long can I have before it gets really worrying?
With cancer is it possible to get bone cancer and what happens if u don't get treatment what happens syptom wise thank you?
Why to do chemotherapy if cancer cells can still be left behind for reccrrence after the treatment? Doesn;t chemo kill all the cells?
Cure is our goal...: Some people can be completely cured of their cancer using chemotherapy, while others eventually relapse and their cancer comes back. Our goal with chemotherapy is to rid the body of all cancer cells, but sometimes this doesn't work. We are not that good at predicting upfront who will be cured and who will relapse, so that is why we try and see what happens. This is an area of intense research.See 2 more doctor answers
