Is there any hypoallergenic baby formula that tastes similar to breast milk? Any formula at all similar?

Taste is subjective!: Most infant formula is modeled after breast milk. The nutrients and needs of the growing infant are the first importance. Hypoallergenic implies less likely to cause allergic response, but this too depends on the infant. Taste is a minor concern in providing quality nutrition for the growing infant. ...Read more

My 9wk old is formula feed. Has reflux dr said try lactose free formula no improvement? Any suggestions or just go back to cow milk based formula?

Reflux formula: You do not have to switch to a lactose free formula for reflux. You can try a reflux formula such as enfamil ar. This is a reflux formula that thickens upon entrance into the stomach. Some babies with severe reflux symptoms also might need medication (i.e. Zantac) and/or thickened feeds to control their reflux symptoms. ...Read more

When allergy to milk based formula shows upin new born?

When allergy to milk based formula shows upin new born?

Hydrolyzed : Milk protein allergy shows up in babies fed formula who have bloody stool and failure to thrive. In this instance your pediatrician can recommend a hydrolyzed formula. However, breast milk should also be easily digested in this case and would be the best option. Many people mistake colic for milk allergy. Colic is rarely improved by changing formula. 50% allergic to cow milk are allergic to soy. ...Read more

This is safe: As long as she is taking her servings of formula and you keep supplying different foods to see when she may be willing to take them again. It is normal for infants and toddlers to grow into and out food likes. I hope this helps and this eases your frustration and concern. ...Read more

Can we feed formulated milk like nan pro 1 every 4 hours to a 1 month old baby...is there any harm in feeding formulated milk?

No harm with formula: feeding for a 3 months old, if you aren't able to fully breast feed, unless the baby is allergic to the formula, he/she can get it until age 2 years without any supplement, you can also feed your baby whenever he/she needs, no need for a strict schedule, babies after sometime will time themselves for a feed every 3 - 4 hours, make sure you your baby gets enough, good luck ...Read more

My toddler 19 month got eczema. I'm thinking may be its cow formula. So thinking to change her formula. Which formula is better soy or goat formula?

My toddler 19 month got eczema. I'm thinking may be its cow formula. So thinking to change her formula. Which formula is better soy or goat formula?

Either, but...: 1. Eczema is rarely caused by a food allergy. Nothing wrong with trying, but it probably won't help. 2. Children over 1 year old do not need "formula". You can buy regular goat milk, almond milk, soy milk, etc. 3. Any of these are fine nutritionally as long as they are only a minor part of the diet (less that 16 ounces a day). He/she should be getting mostly regular table food. ...Read more

Common : for exclusively breast fed infants to have constipation, adding purée vegetables may or may not change his bowel habits, if otherwise doing fine, don't worry, you can stimulate his rectum by measuring a rectal temperature, he may pass stools then, if not, just wait, wish you both well ...Read more

4 month old has reflux. I've switch his bottles, leave him sitting up, we add rice to formula, we use a soy formula, is there anything else i can do?

GER: Occasional spitting up of formula in young infant is very common and generally regarded normal. When spitting-ups are frequent and cause poor weight gain or respiratory symptoms, the term gastroesophageal reflux disease, gerd, is used. Changing formula is not helpful. Thickening of formula by adding cereal and providing acid reducer to infant are often needed for gerd. ...Read more

No formula changes: No need to dilute his formula or change to lactose free temporarily. He needs adequate calories and nutrition even more with mild diarrhea. See his pediatrician for further recommendations should the diarrhea continue. You may try Florastor. If he makes less than 5 wet diapers a day or goes more than 12 hours without urinating, to ER for rehydration and electrolytes as needed. ...Read more
