It may have: White blood cells are of various types with specific duties. Macrophages(a type of white blood cell) are known to phagocytize (engulf and destroy) spermatozoa if present in large numbers. Talk to your MD about the best way to proceed if you are serious about fertilization and pregnancy. A Urologist is a good MD to start the discussion. ...Read more
Probably nothing: As a pathologist, i'm always telling folks to treat people, not lab numbers. Some folks naturally run a high absolute count of one or another kind of white cell, without there being any obvious abnormalities. It's something to know for "baseline." best wishes. ...Read more
My Urine microscopy showed that everything was nil or 0 (including WBCs), except 'pus cells occasional' in the remarks. Is this a concern for me?
Okay by number...: The result of urinalysis (UA) is okay, confirming no suspicion for infection / inflammation. But, in clinical setting, one has to consider all clinical pictures first despite normal UA. For example, normal UA may occur in 5-10% of urinary stone attacks one time or another. In any oral malignancy, is it possible that total leukocytes count is normal and no lymphadenopathy .
My lymphocytes are 1.6 does that mean that is for me my normal or there is no such thing has normal for lymphocytes and wbc?
Hmmm...: If a patient heard "there is no such thing as normal" for lymphocyte counts, that usually means the patient has been abnormally worried about a number that is normal for him, and has been repeatedly asking his doctor about that number. In that case, the doctor will truthfully say, "there's no such thing as normal". In a different situation there really is "abnormal", such as a count of 0 or 25000. ...Read more
What does occasional puss and epithelial cells means in the urine report?there was no number attached to it.I'm I infected?
How do you know?: I am trying to determine how someone would know you have blood in your cervix without doing a speculum exam. The cervix is the opening of the uterus so blood coming out of there is coming from the uterus. Exceptions would be a cervical polyp, cervical fibroid or a cervical infection such as chlamydia. ...Read more
Prostatitis likely: Your results could be from prostatitis. When the prostate swells the resulting inflammation can be seen on a semen analysis. If you've had chlamydia or gonorrhea in the past, or if you currently have any form of urethritis, this can result in pus in the semen (pyospermia). Treatment with antibiotics can correct it, reducing pyospermia's impact on fertility. Further testing if not improved. ...Read more
Qualified yes: No blasts in pbs is much better than the alternative, however, that does not rule out malignancy of the blood system. Depending on your symptoms, signs, other findings, it sometimes requires examination of the bone marrow to be sure. Please keep in touch with your doctors, as it is not clear why was pbs ordered in the first place. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
