OK: As long as your pain in infrequent, minor, does not stop you from functioning, transient, with no other symptoms, just monitor the situation, you still have about a year with Skyla. Though Skyla may be causing the pelvic pain, it is not necessarily so. ...Read more

This evaluation would include a careful history, an exam, an ultrasound and cultures to rule out any std or other vaginal infections. Do not hesitate to seek care! My fiancé & I have been TTC for 3 years now. I am irregular and have had spotting during my expected period for the month of December (very unusual for me to spot during this time). I had right pelvic pain November 30th and started spotting December 1st.

Spotting: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. I have chronic lower abdominal/ pelvic pain that is accompanied by lower back pain. I've had this for two years. Still, no answers. What could this be?

Tough case: Chronic pelvic pain is one of the more difficult diagnoses to pin down. If it is cyclical (worse with periods) then consider endometriosis as a likely possibility. You might need a laparoscopy to make the diagnosis, as ultrasound is often not helpful. Other possibilities are urinary tract, bowel, or musculoskeletal related pain. You may need to see several docs to be sure. Good luck with this! ...Read more

On depo for 3 years, had sex but stopped pelvic pain the day after I had sex... feels like pressure and it's tender to touch. Pregnant or infection.

Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone): If you've received regular injections for three years and never missed one then the likelihood of your being pregnant is extremely low. If you are having sex without a condom with more than one partner then the risk of infection is much higher. Either way get tested for both! ...Read more
