No Heartbeat At 9 Weeks Ultrasound
By LMP I am 7 weeks pregnant. Ultrasound at 6 weeks 3 days showed irregular sac, no heartbeat or yolk etc. No flow around sac. Hcg rising. Miscarriage?
Early pregnancy: It's too soon to be sure what is going on. Often a woman will ovulate later and the lmp will not be accurate. The best option is to repeat the beta-hcg every 48 hours until 3 results are performed and a repeat ultrasound 1 week after the previous was done. That will usually solve the question. ...Read more
An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more
Fetal heartrate measured btwn 132-180 during transvaginal ultrasounds Btwn weeks 6-9. An abdominal scan measured 158 at 9 weeks. Cause for concern?
Im 7 weeks pregnant from ivf, hCG rising, now at 20700. 7 week scan had gest sac @ 13mm and yolk sac, no fetal pole or heartbeat. Is pregnancy doomed?
I am afraid so.: Your transvaginal sonogram should have shown a fetal pole and heart tones after a beta HCG level of 6, 000. Your rei specialist can fill you in on the issues of early pregnancy failure after ivf, which include molar pregnancy, blighted ovum, heterotopic and ectopic pregnancies. At your age, you should achieve a successful pregnancy within 2-6 ivf cycles. Best of luck! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I'm 7 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Transvaginal ultrasound says no yolk sac and no fetal heartbeat. Is the baby still alive?
Unlikely: At 7 weeks gestation (7 weeks after the last menstrual period), a gestational sac, a yolk sac, an embryo and fetal heartbeat should be seen. It is unlikely that the baby is alive. However, a short-term follow up ultrasound can provide a definitive answer. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Ultrasound transvaginal @ 5 wks 4 days saw heart beat at 115 bpm , dr wants to do a viability ultrasound at 8 weeks why if there was a heart beat ?
Confirmation: Doesn't sound like anything to worry about...Typically we seen the heart rate at about 6 weeks. 115bpm is on the lower side of normal, but this isn't uncommon if it is right when the heart first starts beating. The doctor wants to give your baby a couple of weeks to ensure that the heart rate is normal. Likely if at the next sono the HR is around 160's, that is a great sign. Good luck! ...Read more

Internal ultrasound dated me at 6.2 weeks. Heartbeat was seen and measured at 100 bpm. Is this okay?
Went for 2nd ultrasound at 8 weeks this time was able to detect fetal pole yolk sac and gestational sac but still no heartbeat not sure why ?
Dating : If you saw a fetal pole and yolk sac, that's a good sign. You have an intrauterine pregnancy. You aren't 8 weeks, because cardiac activity initiates between 5 1/2 weeks and 6 1/2 weeks, so likely you are much earlier than you calculated based on last menstrual period. Hopefully your doctor scheduled a follow up us to detect fetal heartbeat? If not, would recommend, to make sure no miscarriage. ...Read more

Ultrasound shows one IVF twin 4 days behind 9 week scan. Both had strong heart beats. When to worry?
Not to worry.: I can tell this is a highly desired and anticipated pregnancy and offer you my congratulation on the success thus far. As you know, things can still go wrong as this is a very high-risk pregnancy, so see a maternal-fetal medicine specialist as soon as possible and get information on twin-to-twin-transfusion syndrome and genetic counseling. Non-invasive prenatal genetic testing is now available. ...Read more

8 week abdominal us, fetal pole with no heartbeat, no measurement taken. No signs miscarriage, conceived approx 5.5wk ago, worry??
Clarification: If you are saying that an ultrasound was done that showed an 8 week size fetus without a heartbeat then this indicates a miscarriage. A heartbeat should be visible around the 6 week mark. Clarify with the treating an obgyn. A very clear plan should have been discussed with you when the sonogram was done. ...Read more
