No Ear Wax Production
Eustachian Tube: A clogged ear with no infection or fluid in the ear is usually the result of a poorly functioning eustachian tube. This is the connection from the middle ear to the nose, responsible for maintaining proper air pressure in the ear. When clogged, the ear feels full or stuffy. ...Read more
Ear wax in the ear canal is a mixture of secretions from oil and sweat glands in the canal's skin. Shedded skin cells are also a major ingredient of ear wax. There are two genetically determined types of ear wax: the wet type and the dry type. While Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type (crumbly, flaky), Africans and Europeans are more likely to have the ...Read more
Ear has wax and fluid buildup. Doc said no infection but tragus is swollen and ear is hurting. Ear infection?
Unlikely: You note ear wax and fluid build up. You note a doctor said no infection. You have pain and think it is infection. It is unlikely that you have an infection but I don't know your age, risks, symptoms beside pain. In the summer it could be that you have build up and pain from allergies. The sneezing and inflammation can cause fluid build up. If persists then revisit your doctor for treatments ...Read more
Serous otitis: This could be serous otitis (fluid behind your ear drum) or eustachian tube dysfunction. If you have fluid in your ear your hearing should be significantly decreased in the ear, and when you hum you should hear it louder in the affected ear. Eustachian tube dysfunction means the tube between your ear and nose is inflamed or narrow. I have seen sudden nerve hearing loss present as well. See ent. ...Read more
Is it ok to use debrox ear wax removal while having ear sensitivity after a day of hearing loud noise?
A qtip damaged my hearing last night. Is it ear wax buildup or a perforated eardrum? No pain, no discharge..Just tinnitus and feeling like its clogged
Tinnitus in left ear decided to use ear drops. 9 days later ear full of wax after pulling out the goo , still ringing ear still blocked :-( syringe?
Syringe may help: They sell cleaning kits for ears in the pharmacies which have large syringes. I always advise to use warm soapy water for these types of cleanings. At the same time, I advise caution when doing anything with the ear canal & if you're not sure of what you are doing or if things are going the right way then you should stop and see your doctor. Much better that than to cause any sort of complication. ...Read more
Ear pain, jaw pain near ear, ear ringing, ear clogged/cant hear, feels like water in ear, general congestion/dark mucus. Any ideas/recs? Thx!
Possibly: If ear wax has been pushed against the ear drum, many symptoms related to the ear may occur. If impacted wax is the problem, that can cause hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing). In general, wax is a healthy coating of the ear and is modified sweat. Wax has antibacterial properties and lubricates the ear canal skin. The ear cleans itself. If excessive, it should be cleaned out by a specialist. ...Read more
Sinuses always feel blocked for years; can breath through nose; ears pop & feel blocked though there's no buildup of wax or hearing restriction. Help?
Sinus issues: Your symptoms could be a lot of things ranging from a deviated nasal septum to nasal polyps to chronic sinusitis. Even poorly controlled allergies could cause this. Nasal and sinus symptoms often cause problems with the eustachian tube, which will give the ears a plugged up feeling because it doesn't ventilate the middle ear. The eustachian tube connects the middle ear with the back of the nose. ...Read more
How long for fluid trapped behind ear drum to release naturally from the ear? Taking antibiotic (clarac) lost some hearing. Uncomfortable

Please help for ist 4days- ear pain, eardurms(retracted), ear fullness then- tinnitus, ear crackling on swallow, earfullness(sometimes) no hearing loss?
See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. Crackling on swallowing is normal. The presence of normal hearing strongly indicates no pathology in the external or middle ear. ...Read more
Right ear hearing loss. Clogged after cleaning ears- did not push too hard w qtip. Alcohol will not clear it, it caused more clogging & hearing loss ?
Effusion vs infectio: I suspect you have a middle ear effusion and not an infection. When you have an infection, there is usually pain, sometimes fever and you feel much worse. If you are just experiencing "noise" in your ear, having difficulty with hearing, then this is more likely a fluid buildup in that middle ear space. Recommend you chew gum, "pop" your ears hundreds of times a day and monitor for other symptoms. ...Read more
