Ear wax in the ear canal is a mixture of secretions from oil and sweat glands in the canal's skin. Shedded skin cells are also a major ingredient of ear wax. There are two genetically determined types of ear wax: the wet type and the dry type. While Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type (crumbly, flaky), Africans and Europeans are more likely to have the ...Read more

Ear has wax and fluid buildup. Doc said no infection but tragus is swollen and ear is hurting. Ear infection?
Unlikely: You note ear wax and fluid build up. You note a doctor said no infection. You have pain and think it is infection. It is unlikely that you have an infection but I don't know your age, risks, symptoms beside pain. In the summer it could be that you have build up and pain from allergies. The sneezing and inflammation can cause fluid build up. If persists then revisit your doctor for treatments ...Read more
Cleaning ear and clogged by cotton swab, cant hear and little bleed.doctor clean ear still cant hear?
Numbness left side of face for 7 months ent said ear clear..my ear make cracking sound and it all started with blocked ear with wax.
Sore thoat with little stuffy nose very lilttle drainage. Right ear feels clogged with little ringing in ear?
Cold virus: The cold virus can cause these symptoms. I would take some ibuprofen and sudafed (as long as you don't have high blood pressure) for 1-2 days. If the clogged, ringing sensation continues despite that, then see your doctor or urgent care. If you develop a fever over 101 then you may want to be seen sooner. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Perhaps: An inner ear infection is extraordinarily rare and is either from meningitis or acute otitis media that has spread, to the inner ear causing deafness and profound vertigo. If you really did have an inner ear infection i would expect you to, have these and other symptoms such as deafness. Mild dizziness and tinnitus are common in otitis media and usually resolve as the fluid behind the drum resolves. ...Read more
Please help for ist 4days- ear pain, eardurms(retracted), ear fullness then- tinnitus, ear crackling on swallow, earfullness(sometimes) no hearing loss?
See an ENT doctor: Ear pain and fullness can be due to tmd (temporo-mandibular disorder). Retraction of drum may indicate eustachian tube obstruction, but that requires a specialist's observation. Crackling on swallowing is normal. The presence of normal hearing strongly indicates no pathology in the external or middle ear. ...Read more

A different drop?: I am not the biggest fan of preparations that contain neomycin as it is known to irritate the skin of some individuals, making the itching worse. Generally complete avoidance of q tips and using a different drop like dermotic (there is a generic now too) twice a day as needed can help. Also make sure you have a drying box for your hearing aids at night so they aren't too moist. ...Read more

Wax: It can be an external issue, with cerumen (/wax) buildup that needs removed, or can be an internal problem, with clogged / blocked eustachian tubes. Left ear not producing any wax. Recently had an ear infection in my left ear and now my left ear is itchy and not producing any wax. Right ear is fine?
External otitis: Many of us would term this chronic external otitis. It's basically a condition of the skin of your ear canal. It is frequently caused by cleaning the ears too much, usually with a q tip. I frequently treat this with a steroid cream, used two or three nights a week. See an ENT to have the ear checked out and make recommendations. ...Read more
