Gaining weight: That's great that you are not consuming a lot of carbs and are watching your diet. You also need to look at the overall quantity (and calories) of what you are eating as well. Are you exercising too? Without physical activity (cardio), it is hard to lose weight. You have to burn more calories than you are consuming. You might be doing this already and have another reason for weight gain. ...Read more

You need variety...: Fresh fruits and veggies are good in general because they provide some good vitamins/nutrition, but as human we cannot digest cellulose--the main component in veggies/fruits, which the cows/horse can. They can turn grass/hays into proteins/meats, we cannot. A variety of food types is recommended--see the pyramid for example. Consult your doc/nutritionist. Live well, melani6. Energy Drinks: First there is no medical or health benefit from 'energy drinks'. These drinks are usually high in caffeine and/or sugars. I would read the labels and if there are any carbs in the drink recommend that you not ingest it. But, in general i would recommend avoiding these unnecessary and non-nutritional drinks all together. ...Read more
Educate yourself: A vegan diet is extremely dangerous if you do not know exactly what you are doing and supplement accordingly. Adding fish makes its safer. Despite all the grandstanding, there's little (some would say no) strong evidence that either offers health (as opposed to the very real moral) benefits when we control for other healthy lifestyle considerations. ...Read more

I eat a mostly clean diet, no gluten, sugar, dairy, or processed foods. I also make green juice daily. Is it normal to have 4-5 bowel movements a day?
DANGEROUS, however:: A no carb diet would consist only of meat ; eggs; i don't know anyone who recommends this. It would result in many nutritional deficiencies, completely lacking vitamin c, fiber, flavonoids ; other phytonutrients essential for good health. There is lots of research showing benefits of a vegetarian diet but none on the benefits of no carb diet. However, many recommend a low carb diet. See comment:. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Fad diet: This "pop" diet -- despite the elaborate "scientific theory" presented by its proponents -- probably works like most of the other diet fads by limiting food choices.
