Nipple Burning Pain Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding for 9 months. Sudden sharp burning pain in left nipple shooting into breast. Only on left, no signs of thrush in baby or me.?
Yeast still likely: Even if you have no sign, nor the baby any sign, that history sounds suspicous for yeast. Get a good assessment by an experienced lactation consultant, and try to find a sympathetic doctor who would be willing to listen to the treatment suggestions by the lactation consultant. A provider that is an lc and an arnp would be able to see you and probably write a script for treationg you and the baby. ...Read more

Hi I have a pinching burning sensation right below my left breast.. I breast feed and I only get the pain when I lay and feed him?
Positioning: Examine your breast in that area for redness or swelling. Since this seems to be positional, it is possible that the baby is not getting a proper latch in this position. Take care at your next feeding to be sure baby opens wide and that the tip of your nipple is in the back of his mouth. Be sure also to rotate positions equally such that you are compressing all of the mild ducts equally! ...Read more

Get seen..: If you are palpating a lump in your breast get seen with your Dr. ASAP. Most of the time at your age this is associated with benign problems (not related to cancer), but if for example it is an infection it requires treatment. I've been experiencing a strong burning sensation in my nipples for the past week. I'm a 25yo female and recently started taking Lamotrigin & Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine)?
This is an unusual complaint with this type of meds. The one thing that lamotrigine can cause is hot flashes as well as chest pain. In a loose sense this might explain what you are describing. I would have a conversation with the doc that prescribed this and sees what the doc has to say.
Best wishes. ...Read more

All day today, I've been having breast pain in both of my breast. The pain is like a stabbing/burning sensation. It's mostly around the nipple or on it. They are also really sensitive to touch. I'm not pregnant, so I know that's not the reason. Do you kno
Recommend Dr eval.: I would see your OB-GYN or primary care doctor regarding this. It is hard to say without a more detailed history and exam however. I would not ignore it. ...Read more

If you feel a mass, or if there are any visible skin changes, see a doctor now. ...Read more
