A common site: Night sweats: there are many potential causes to sweating at night. The term night sweats generally refers to excessive sweating at night related to a hormone imbalance. There is no one answer to explain the origin of sweating at night. Some common causes are: infection, some cancers, several medications, low blood sugars and a host of other less common reasons. Were going to focus in on the hormone imbalance commonly seen in menopause, although by no means limited to menopause. We have seen a common night sweats picture in the men with prostate cancer with elevated estrogen levels. Swelling often starts around your neck We generally start with saliva testing which allows us to identify what the hormone imbalance actually is and treat accordingly. When we don't start with saliva testing we very often get very good success with progesterone cream in the form of wild yam cream. There are many different preparations of wild yam cream on the market and often the preparation does not have enough progesterone cream to be effective. The above is the simple answer the better answer is to work with a healthcare professional who has experiencing natural hormone therapy. A single pea sized "lump" that has not increased in 3 months is not likely to be a tumor, however, you should discuss the matter with your doctor. ...Read more
I am having severe night sweats a but only on my head and neck. I am sweating through 2pillows. And the duvet is wet any answers please?
Two things: This could be simply due to menopause, or it could be a sign of something serious, like cancer. Drenching night sweats are common when estrogen levels drop. But if you went through menopause years ago, this is less likely. Some cancers cause drenching night sweats as an early sign, so it's best to see your doctor. ...Read more
On the right side of my head/neck, just at the hairline, I have had a firm bump for a couple months. Have had mono twice. Have night sweats.?
# of possibilites.: The firm bump could be a lymph node, a sebaceous cyst, an acne cyst, among others. The area described sounds like part of the lymph node chain called posterior cervical. If you had mono recently, it may be from that and slowly should resolve. The area drains infections from several areas of face and scalp on that side. Night sweats makes me think infection. 2 months? Go for check-up & blood tests. ...Read more
