Stomach burning: Do you experience heartburn or actual gerd? Dexilant is also a ppi like protonix. Occasionally reflux is due to reflux of bile and not acidic material, and in these cases, ppi's are usually ineffective. In addition to a bland diet, avoid fatty,fried or oily foods, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine to see if your symptoms resolve. ...Read more

Switch toothpaste: Some toothpastes have ingredients that don't agree with the skin in the mouth. I personally see more of this with the "tartar control" ingredients. Try Colgate Total and see if the problem persists. ...Read more

Strange: Why did the doctor order an EGD? Did he bother to take a history and do a physical exam first? Why did you go to the doctor? Do you have difficulty swallowing or dyspepsia? Why are you taking Nexium (esomeprazole)? I have NEVER heard of 31 y.o. with Barrett's or esophageal cancer. Doctor's don't get paid to think. They get paid to DO THINGS to patients, such as EGD's. You should ask the doctor some questions. ...Read more

8 weeks ago, doc saw tiny itchy bumps on my shin. She froze it w/ nit. Ox. Left hypopigment white skin patch. Scar-gel, self-tanner don't help. Advice?

Photosensitive: This may well be photosensitivity secondary to medications or simply Sun poisoning. Ask your pharmacist if any of your medications cause photosensitivity as he/she has access to all that information and can recommend OTC treatment. ...Read more

Derm? Fake nails redone after a mo. Noted pinkie has green brown spot abt 1/4 CM long vertical ctr nail top, just below where nail extends off finger. Caucasian. 1 sev. Dys. Nevi. Scared melanoma!

Distal nail streak: It is not likely that a spot starting in the distal portion of the nail bed represents a melanoma. More likely this represents a bacterial infection with pseudomonas. You should see your dermatologist and get a bacterial and a fungal culture done. The fungal culture will also tell if you have yeast. Gerd: Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) and Carafate are good combination, either you can leave of the Carafate during travel and may be okay with that, if symptoms bothers off of Carafate, try ranitidine 150 mg at night.l ...Read more

Spotted 4 tiny red dots on my left leg. Looks like sb took a red fine tip pen & drew 4 dots in a row equally spaced.Seems to be dried blood. Any idea?

Uncertain: Bed bug bites may have no sx's/signs except for 2 small skin puncture points. A reaction may show from an hr to several days later. It can cause itchy, pink, swollen, lesions w clear center. If hypersensite blisters may occur. A telltale sign is linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – but doesn't always occur.
