I have 3 prescriptions. Zoloft, Nexium (esomeprazole) and clonazepam. Are any of these hard on or dangerous to your liver?
All three of these: Medications are broken down by your liver. If your liver is normal it should not be dangerous. ...Read more
I feel my acid reflux has got worse since taking antibiotics I've also been on Zoloft for the past month. Is Nexium (esomeprazole) ok to take while on Zoloft?
Should be safe: This combination should be fine.Get a more detailed answer ›
I've had a very hard time falling asleep for the past few nights. I've only gotten about 3 hours of sleep each night. What are the safest prescription medications that I can use to help me fall asleep? (I take 25mg Zoloft and 20mg Nexium every day).
Find cause: Need more information to know what's causing lack of sleep. Meds should be discussed with prescribing doctor who also should know what's going on that you can only sleep 3 hr/night. Some common reasons: situational stress, mood disorder not fully recognized, excess alcohol or other substance abuse that may be minimized. Keep a log of your sleep pattern and discuss openly with your doctor. ...Read more
Is 200mg of COq 10 safe and effective for lowering blood pressure? Current meds are Zoloft losartan betapace and nexium (esomeprazole). Any interactions?
There are two forms: Of CoQ10. Neither has been regulated by the FDA. (One form appears to have more antioxidant properties). Several conditions have been associated with low CoQ10 levels including HTN, heart failure, certain cancers, gingivitis, gastric ulcers, etc. Currently there has not been a consensus arrived at as to the BP lowering effects (due to lack of controlled studies). May affect Zoloft (sertraline) level a bit. ...Read more

I take my nexium, (esomeprazole) lisinopril, wellbutrin, and sertraline in the morning and atenolol at night are they ok to take like that?
I just found out that im 5 weeks preagnant, few weeks before I took Nexium (esomeprazole) for acid reflux and sertraline for panic attacks. Is that safe for the baby?
Likely OK: Nexium (esomeprazole) not a problem. The jury is not in yet on sertraline during pregnancy. The problems that have been suspected with sertraline appear to be more of a problem later in pregnancy, closer to delivery, with some of these meds being suspected to be involved in some cardiac/breathing problems in newborns at the time of birth with a condition called persistent pulmonary hypertension. ...Read more

There are two forms of Zoloft (sertraline). The capsule form cannot be crushed but the tablet form can. Your pharmacist may be able to make a liquid form for your son if the capsule is your only option.

Zoloft (sertraline) sweats: The whole class of ssri medications (including prozac, zoloft, paxil, (paroxetine) etc.) can cause night sweats, particularly as you are stopping or reducing the medication. Paxil (paroxetine) is the worst offender in this group. Some patients have this symptom even while taking the medication. Usually it will go away after a few weeks. ...Read more
When I haven't taken my Zoloft (sertraline) in 2 + days (rarely happens that I skip) why does it cause me headaches?
Why can't I take oxyelite pro while I'm taking zoloft (sertraline)? I'm in medical field so complicated answer is okay
Unregulated: All supplements are unregulated by fda, so they can put 'pro' and 'awesome' and whatever you want to hear to get excited and spend money, but the fact is there are things they can put that do work, and are dangerous. I see kidney stones, heart, liver and other problems that come from muscle and energy supplements. So with or without zoloft, (sertraline) I wouldn't recommend that stuff. ...Read more
I haven't taken my medication (Zoloft 200mg and Lamictal 200mg) for 2 weeks. Should I take my full dose again or half?
Can't remember for the life of me if I took my Zoloft (sertraline) this morning. I'm on 100 mg. Should I risk double dosing or skip it?
Can count pills: On the bottle it should list the day it was filled and the rate at which you are supposed to take it (once or twice a day). You can then count the number of pills left and decide whether you have taken the right number of pills. Also, one extra or fewer dose of Zoloft (sertraline) is not going to throw you into a toxic state. ...Read more
I asked a question before about which could medications I could take with zoloft (sertraline). I didn't get an answer, and I can't sleep due to this cough.
Some remedies: A mixture of chamomile tea with honey & a small amount of lemon juice may help. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced organic ginger. Steep for at least five minutes in a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs of honey & sip. Hydrate well with broth or water. These are just a few options. Take care. ...Read more

I didn't take my night dose of Zoloft (sertraline) & strattera! What can happen? I already didn't see benefit on meds. Will this missed dose affect its effectivity?
Not a Problem: Skipping a day in taking these medications will not be a problem. Just take your next scheduled dose. The effectiveness for both drugs will depend on amount of drug and the time it is in the system. Both depend on time to know if they will be effective. Give 4 weeks for both, then ask your doctor if should increase the doses. ...Read more

More OCD treatment: It looks like you're being treated for depression and OCD. It also sounds like the treatment for the OCD is NOT working well- suggest you get in to see and talk to a psychologist and psychiatrist to sort things out. Go easy on yourself, and trust it will get better with time and regular medication ...Read more
I've been on Zoloft (sertraline) for a few yrs. I have noticed weight gain. I want to switch to something that won't make me gain, what works best for my age? 17.
Talk w/psychiatrist: This is something you need to discuss with your own psychiatrist, preferably an adolescent psychiatrist. Some medications have additional risks in young people, and you want to be safe and well. Lexapro (escitalopram) is a reasonable choice in adults, but reviewing your concerns with your own doctor would be better than asking doctors who don't know you (like us on healthtap). Good luck! ...Read more

Zoloft (sertraline) Klonopin : It would help to know what anxiety disorder you have and how you expect to feel on klonopin. What would happen if I have been taking 200mg of Zoloft (sertraline) and my body doesn't need it just wondering if I would have serotonin symdrome and what symptoms?
Unprescribed?: If you've been taking zoloft (sertraline) & your body doesn't need it, you'd be exposed to potential side effects like GI upset, nausea, diarrhea, etc -- but none of the benefits. Side effects can happen even if your body does need zoloft (sertraline). If on 200mg zoloft (sertraline) and no other conflicting medications or drugs, serotonin syndrome is very unlikely. If taking unprescribed medications, this is another issue. ...Read more

Anxiety ; insomnia: Have you added any new medicines, supplements, or recreational drugs -- or stopped any of the same? Do you drink alcohol? Any changes to your pre-sleep routine? Anything worrisome on your mind? How is your mood, and your energy? These are some things I'd ask in working with you -- your own psychiatrist will want to know the same. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help w/insomnia as well. ...Read more

Not advisable: Ativan will commonly cause amnesia. You should not drink in combination with the Ativan, the result can be as you found, but can be more serious including death. Your dose of Zoloft (sertraline) is very low, and not likely an interaction with either the alcohol or ativan. ...Read more
