Your best weight is what looks and feels right to you and lets you take part effectively in your favorite sport. As a predictor of health, the much-sought-after "appropriate bmi" of 18-25 has been a disappointment. It's much more important simply to stay physically fit. Best wishes. ...Read more

Use BMI calculator: Google up the bmi calculator, or "body mass indicator." this is based on your height and weight only. I always found that nursing mothers lost about five pounds when they stopped nursing. So using the bmi calculator should still be reasonable. You have to remember that you require more fluids and calorie intake to make milk for a hungry baby. Lgromkomd. ...Read more

I used two calculators to find my target heart rate, with different results. One used my resting heart rate. Which should I use for losing weight?
No magic number: There's no perfect number. Here a good rule of thumb. Subtract your age from 220. This is your maximum predicted heart rate. Multiple by 60%. This is your recommended target heart rate. Example: age 44. 220-44=176. 0.6x 176=105. 105 is your target. Remember: you'll lose more weight by reducing your intake than by trying to burn it up. Any exercise at any heart rate is beneficial for dieters. ...Read more
What should my calorie intake be to lose weight? My first Doctor said 1200 but calculators say 2100. 310lbs 5'3" female 22 years old. Thank you!
It depends: Do you want to sustain your weight or lose weight? It may be best to consider weight loss since a 5'3" frame will have diffculty sustaining that weight over time without joint damage. Your calorie recommendations are extremes on a spectrum. I would suggest starting at 2500 carefullly counted for 2 months are drop by 100 every 2 months until you get to 1500. Return to 1800 when at goal weight. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

ALL babies do: This is a normal process in newborns. They body is made up with more water than older babies and this is mostly water weight loss. Normal babies lose up to 10% of their birth weight in the first few days, then get back to birth weight by 7-10 days of life, and then gain about an ounce per day or a pound every two weeks. If you are in those ranges, then you are alright. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I disagree: I don't agree that he is not gaining enough weight. You have to remember he likely lost weight in the first week after he was born - usually about 8 ounces. That being said, the baby has gained nearly 2 pounds in the past 7 weeks. That's more than adequate weight gain, and I wouldn't make any changes in what you are doing. Continue to make sure you attend all routine baby check-ups. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Housework + Baby = : Exercise! learn how to use the "football hold" or "colic carry" from a nursery nurse, & you'll have at least one free hand & 2 legs for zumba. Nursing burns calories, so eat at the very least 1500 cal/day. Volume counts: Babies have a stomach capacity of about half their pound weight in ounces.A 10 lb baby should be able to accommodate 5 oz and pushing the volume up gradually can help increase the time between feedings. As long as baby empties every bottle they can probably handle a little more. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No easy way, but: with some determination, not wishes, you can lose weight, given that you have a new born, that puts more stress on your life, some time management, diet and exercise would do the trick, takes time though, drink lots of fluids, half of your plate would be vegetables/ green salad, lots of fruits, walk at least 30 minutes 5 times/ week, good luck ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
