Newborn Baby Indentation In Forehead
My newborn baby girl has hair on her forehead and by her eyebrows. Will this fall off and if so when?
I was feeding my newborn baby (1 week n 3 days old). My three year old punched him on his head, the baby cryed alittle but is fine. Should I worry?
Family practice: If he has stopped crying and is acting with normal sucking I wouldn't worry too much. Things like that will happen should be fine.
Tummy time...: In order to avoid flat head due to constant laying on back it is recommended to give tummy time to the baby while you are watching few times a day for a few minutes. Make sure you are closely supervising the baby and don't leave him (her) alone while the baby is on his (her) abdomen. When leaving the baby alone in his (her)crib ALWAYS put the baby to lay on back.
Yes: A newborn's soft spot can often show slight pulsation. It is nothing to worry about. As long as your baby is otherwise well you can ignore this.

I have an indent on the middle of my forehead just above the eyebrow line and now my newborn has it too is it a trait I have inherited genetically?
Probably: Many facial features - dimples, chin size, nose shape - are inherited features. What a wonderful thing that your newborn shares this special feature with you. You can definitely rule out the mailman! (lol).
Picked my new born baby up forgot to support neck and head my baby head kinda flopped back did I hurt him? Will this cause problems in the future?
Most unlikely: If damage had been done your baby would be very unhappy particularly with head movementif baby did not cry when this occurred I think you are OK. If baby has full range of motion of his head without discomfort you have done no damage. Do not worry. However, If he seems to have tenderness with head movement see his PCPfor evaluation right away
Rug Burn?: Keep clean, keep moist, keep from infection and be patient. Depending upon how severe may take 1 -2 weeks to hell with weeks of discoloration.
Baby is 8 weeks. Aunt with Herpes kissed the baby on the forehead. She did not have an lesions at the time. What are the babies risks?
Not Zero but small: We would not call the risk zero in this instance, but it is extremely small.
No: Pediatricians consider greater than or equal to 100.4 to be fever in a child less than one year of age. It is important to take the temperature recatally as this will give you the most accurate body temperature location.
Infant 2 m/o with occipital lymph nodes on each side of the head? Is it normal? He has a severe case of seborheic dermatitis (head, cheeks, forehead)
Very common: Enlarged occipital lymph nodes are commonly found in children who have had rashes, infections or mild trauma to the scalp. These are generally of no significant clinical consequence and often reduce in size with time.
My almost 3 month old has what looks like a pimple on his forehead, a whitehead. Should this concern me or do babies sometimes get little pimples just like everyone else?
Pimple: It might not be acne but may be some mucinous cyst of sorts, does not sound extremely worrisome. If enlarging, if angry or red looking, if fevers, then seek medical attention immediately
Recently, I am having headche in front of my forehead and above my head and its associated with teeth pain. I don't sleep well from my new infant. Help?
Stress related pain: Sometimes headaches, tooth pain, etc can all be associated with a category of pain called myofascial pain. This type of pain tends to be present more often with stress, like getting lack of sleep or other of life's pressures. An endodontist might be hepful in evaluating the teeth to rule out a source there. He might be able to provide a referral to a medical doctor, too.See 2 more doctor answers
18 days old developed an allergy that looks like baby acne. Do babies develop this condition weeks after birth? Rash is only on forehead and cheeks.
Baby acne: The baby acne is a common event that reflects hormones transferred during the pregnancy. While the baby is floating in moisture, the skin is will not respond, but within 1-3 weeks after birth they break out for many weeks until the hormone levels drop & the acne disappears. Keeping the skin clean ; avoiding irritating soaps helps. It has no relationship to allergy. If it persists > 3mo see the doc
Can I use abuterol sulfat and infant Advil (ibuprofen) with my 8 months old? He is wheezing and his head is a little bit hot (forehead 101f for 2 days straight).
Yes: You can use both medications. It is advisable to treat the fever when it is more than 101, and to follow up with your physician. Keeping the baby well hydrated and using the albuterol for hacking cough and wheezing helps to relieve bronchospasm. At this age a spacer device or nebulizer is used to help deliver the medication to the lungs. If the fever or cough/wheezing persists, please see your M.DSee 1 more doctor answer
Thick skull: In general, the backside of the skull is quite thick at any age. That thickness protects it from minor trauma. The brain inside is still at risk of injury when the skull remains intact, if the trauma suffered is enough to rattle up the contents.
