I have hpv. It's been a yr since my last normal pap.I'm noticing new genital warts. Had this for 6 yrs. What are the chances I have cervical cancer?

But, keep getting yearly pap smears and pelvic exams by your physician. Also, inform sexual partners of hpv and genital warts and use barrier protection. ...Read more

None ...: There has been no known "magic" pills, herbs, or foods to suppress H{V (viral) infection. However, healthy lifestyle without overindulgence & obsession will definitely enhance and maximize personal defense mechanism; washing the newly contacted area especially after sex & keeping skin well-ventilated will minimize HPV gaining access to the body to grow. How do you tell a new girlfriend/boyfriend you have genital warts without them halting the relationship?

How do you tell a new girlfriend/boyfriend you have genital warts without them halting the relationship?

Openly and honestly: Genital warts can cause cervical cancer. That is serious. Therefore if you want to get into a serious realtionship, your have to know what you are dealing with. If the other person halts ther realtionship, that is serious but not as serious as not dealing with the disease at hand. Would you want to be in a realationship that was not serious enough or cared enought to deal with this problem? ...Read more

If my partner of 2 yrs had genital warts and we broke up and 2 months later with new partner i find out I have herpes who gave it to me?

Herpes: The only way you can tell specifically is if your antibody test include the igm with the igg. If you had igm antibodies then the latest partner probably gave this to you. If you have only igg antibodies you will never know who gave you this infection. Remember that 90% of people with herpes do not have outbreaks and unless they have the blood test do not know they are infected with herpes. ...Read more

Can genital warts come back after having protected sex with someone ? Hpv was dormant for two years. No warts. Until protected sex with a new partner....

HPV : Hpv is caused by a virus. I suggest that rather than them coming back, you have a recurrance. As dr fowler points out, there are many strains of virus and you could become infected with a new strain. When you have them removed, you only have the warts that are visual removed. Some warts are invisible even with a careful exam and colposcopy. I suggest that you discuss this situation with your physician, who may have information about the previous hpv that could help answer your questions. Best wishes. ...Read more
