New Born Babys Name
Different reasons: Some babies may be born with anatomical defects requiring emergency surgery like certain heart malformations or a hole in the diaphragm allowing abdominal organs to push up and take up lung space. Certain neurological problems may also require surgery, like spina bifida or hydrocephalus. These are just a few examples.
Poor development : Of thyroid gland. Thyroid hormone replacement will be needed lifelong. With proper treatment, most of them do well.
Read on: Depends on the wording. Newborns develop kneecaps 4 months in utero but the are all cartilage, not bone. After birth the are growth centers and bone will develop. Around 3 yrs in girls and 5 to 6 in boys they are ossified(bone). Am interesting fact. Some say that they develop into bone later as we bear more weight on the legs and need support also crawling is easier on the knees when not bone!
Pacifiers: Yes please! Pacifiers are wonderful in my opinion. They satisfy babies need to suck, they sooth baby, they help mom and dad. They don't hurt teeth. Best of all there are studies which show a decreased incidence of sudden infant death with their use. This doctor and grandpa endorses them!
Immediately: Studies show a preference for mothers voice by age 3 hours and dads by the end of the day. These are often a subtle like the flicker of an eyelid.See 1 more doctor answer
Mongolian spots: Some babies are born with these blue spots. They mimic bruises and hence can be easily mistaken for child abuse and/ or serious hematlogical diseases. Hence a careful exam by pediatrician and notification in patients chart is necessary.
Varies: My delivering hospitals have lists from Child and Family Services that point out individuals with open drug investigations. When they deliver, urine from mom and baby will usually be screened and in many cases the first baby stool will also be submitted for study. I do not routinely order drug studies on babies, but any prior history of maternal drug use may require screening for medical purposes.
Have u heard about ergo baby carriers with infant insert? How safe is that to use for new born to go outside for a wallk?
Appears safe: Ergobaby carriers look good. For newborns i prefer a sling. Anything that supports baby's head and keeps it from flopping around will be ok. Use common sense....These carriers look better to me for slightly older infants.
My niece has smallpox and I have a new born( 6days) can she catch the smallpox?Knowing we live in the same house. What can I do to keep the infant safe
Odd statement: Smallpox has not been reported in the world since 2 lab associated cases in 1980. Perhaps you mean chickenpox. Baby would be at low risk if you ever had them.If not, being in the same room for half an hour is enough time to expose the infant.Best clarify the issue with your local doc.If it is really smallpox, the world needs to know.See 1 more doctor answer
Yes: Depending on the underlying condition, a lung transplant is an option for some infants with severe lung disease that can not be treated with medications.
Spitting Mucus: Hello! Newborns may spit up mucus leftover from amniotic fluid up to 72 hrs after birth but tends to resolve sooner. If the saliva seems excessive, a doc visit is needed to check for issues of the esophagus. Spitting up milk is also common in newborns and should be discussed with your doc to ensure it's normal infant reflux. For future consults, my link is healthtap.com/vanessanealmd PNYTKV.

Drug Reactipn: Unfortunately, this reaction is seen in rare cases as a one time occurrence. Your baby may be sensitive to Silver Nitrate, so keep in mind when writing drug reactions for his medical chart in the future.

Is it safe or advisable for my HIV positive nanny to continue caring for my new born and 18 month old babies?
Yes: I am going to assume that she is having her illness managed. Even if she is not, during the bad old days in which there was no treatment, household contacts (family members, caregivers) simply did not become infected. The virus is basically impossible to transmit in the home except through honest-to-goodness sex or needle-sharing.See 1 more doctor answer
Immunization for new born babies, best place to put injection is on the buttocks or on the arm. Is it risky to put on buttocks?
Placement of shots: Actually I prefer the front of the thigh. There is not enough muscle mass in the arm and the buttocks have large vessels and nerves that are difficult to avoid in small babies.
My newborn baby that 19, days old and she keeps crying i think she constipated, what can I give my new infant baby for the pain. Can suppositories use?
Constipation: Is hard and infrequent stools. You can give a glycerin suppository once and see igf that helps. Baby may be crying if mom is breastfeeding and drinking milk, eating dairy. If using milk based formula then can also cause tummy ache. Baby could be colicky too.. Go see your doctor and discuss this. You will feel better and so will baby!
I have a hh agency(new), peds & just had first time request for light therapy for newborn jaundice infant. What complications are there?
See below: Blue light therapy for jaundice is standard for breaking down the bilirubin that is being produced and seen in the skin and sclera. As long as the child's eyes are protected and hydration is monitored along with the bilirubin levels (by a health care professional), i fore see no complications as long as the bilirubin level is lowering and the child is not sick as well.See 1 more doctor answer
