Neutrophils Blood Test
23 year old healthy female, 3 month ago all blood test normal. Now atypical lymphocytes 19.7 neutrophils Segmented 27.7 WBC 4.8 lab range 3.5-11 k/ul?
Could be normal.: Not sure why you would have blood drawn 3 months after having normal labs in a young and healthy female? There may be more to the story.... ? These labs could be seen as part of a viral syndrome. May be best to repeat them at some point. ...Read more
In blood test. Neutrophils low. Lymphs high Monocytes high .But only reading high on absolute was Granulocytes and Neutrophils. Cause for concern?
How high?: Percentages mean nothing. If your absolute granulocyte count was slightly above the reference range without abnormal forms and you feel well, it means nothing; this fluctuates and a cold shower can double it. ...Read more
Blood test showed lymphs 16.7, and neutrophils absolute as 7.25. What are lymphs and neutrophils absolute?
WBC differentials: Are reported as percentages and as absolute values which is the total WBC mulled by the percentage. The absolute numbers are more meaningful. An absolute lymph of almost 17 is high, where a percent is on the low side. ...Read more
Neutrophils 77 slightly out of range but absolute neutrophils normal. Why elevated neutrophil level on the one blood test?
Totally meaningless: If the absolute values are in reference range, ignore it totally. I wish labs wouldn't even report these percentages. And reference ranges themselves are set up so that several percent of healthy people fall outside. A short swim in cold water can triple your neutrophil count. Don't treat labs -- look at people. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form. Practice safe sex. No: Hey Lisa -- If you feel well, simply ignore this stuff unless they're so far off that your physician actually talks to you about them. Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside on either end. Percentage counts mean nothing. I can shoot my absolute neutrophi count to 20,000 by ice-swimming. Eos must exceed 1500 to even raise an eyebrow; basos are no-worry. ...Read more
I have been getting sick again and again for the past month. My blood test shows high tlc level. 79% neutrophils and 12% lymphocytes level. ?
Recurrent infections: White blood cells, also known as leukocytes, play an important role in the immune system of an individual. They fight infections against foreign organisms and destroy them. When acute infection occurs, TLC will increase. There may be an inbalance of bacteria in the gut leading to a recurrence of getting sick. And overstimulation of the immune system increasing TLC. Probiotics may be helpful. ...Read more
I had a complet blood test and it showd my neutrophil auto was at 34% and lymph auto at 51% eso autoat5% and now have been referred to a hemotoligist?
Need more info: The percentage of WBC types doesn't allow a hematologist much to help you with. The complete blood count including the total white blood count, the hemoglobin and platelet count are as important as the percentages of white blood cell types. Even more important is the history and symptoms of your situation. ...Read more
