My daughter is 9 months. Her GI told me her neutrophils are low with a value of 1.13 and her lymphs are 79. Her AST and ALT are also high what's wrong?

50 yr old male, recent blood work, flags: ESR = 16 (my usual = between 4 - 8), monocytes = 18% (abs. Mono. = 0.9 x 10e3/ul), AST = 80, ALT = 137, but my dr.'s only concern is my LDL = 255. Comments?
Stop worrying: Sed rate is famously imprecise and is of interest only if it is consistently quite high. Monocyte percentage of 900 isn't worrisome if you're not sick. I would be concerned about elevated ast and alt; this may be anything from smoldering viral hepatitis to medication allergy, hemochromatosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, or any of several others. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Not necessarily: These are liver function tests. When they are high, it means there is some degree of liver damage. Hi I have just had a blood test done and high levels of AST and ALT. What does this mean? What should I do?
It depends..: It depends on exactly how high they are and what your doctor felt on examination of your liver (did he/she feel it was enlarged/painful?). Sometimes this can mean you have viral or autoimmune hepatitis, toxicity from drugs or other toxins, alcoholic liver disease, and a list of other possibilities. You need to have a serious discussion about this with your treating physician to discuss next steps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
