HI my LYMPHS # is at 0.8 with range should be 1.0-3.8. My NEUT % is at 81 and should be between 38-76. should I be concerned about this.
Depends on setting: The absolute neutrophil count can rise from an extreme life-threatening bacterial infection, and equally high from a cold shower. The clinical context is everything. Remember that reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. ...Read more

What does it mean if I have a high Lymph%sysmex reported as 48.5
And a low Neut%sysmex reported as 37.2?
Need more info: Why were the tests done? Some viral infections can increase the lymphocyte count temporarily. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests, though it does not seem to be a serious issue. ...Read more

Blood tests: There are a few diseases that leap out from blood tests. Most of the time, however, blood tests don't tell the doctor much on their own. These results fall into the second group, not very specific. ...Read more

Many causes: One high liver function and an elevated white blood count and neutrophil count does not mean leukemia. In a 29 year old an infection is much more likely. You would expect more changes in a CBC than this with leukemia. Who ordered the test and why? That would be the person best able to guide you. Hope this helps. ...Read more

I got the following blood results: WCC 3.4, NEUT 1.9, LYMP 1.2. Everything else is good and I will get retested, but I am wondering why the numbers were so low? I wasn't feeling sick when tested.
Many possibilities: Leukopenia, or low white blood cells can be caused by a variety of conditions. Most commonly, it is caused by viral illness that may not be recognized. Autoimmunity with neutrophil antibodies are a possibility. If other blood counts are abnormal, then bone marrow failure (aplastic anemia or leukemia) are possibilities. I recommend discussion with your doctor to address the cause of your leukopenia. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

CBC w/ differential: These are normal labs.Get a more detailed answer ›
Need information...: This data appears to be the differential percentages. It is better to evaluate it in the context of the total white cell count. If the total white count is high, the data is more concerning for a cancer. If the white cell count is low, the lymphocytes could be reactive due to neutropenia of benign cause. Follow-up with your doctor is important in either case. ...Read more

Variable: There is a great deal of variability in lab tests like a CBC which includes the WBCs and differential which you listed. These values can vary day to day, even hour to hour, depending on the situation. There is only minimal difference in the values you listed, likely not too significant but if you are concerned, see your doctor for further information/evaluation. ...Read more

Acute viral illness: I typically find that a low total white blood cell count that is a new finding, especially when also accompanied by an elevated lymphocyte percentage, and even more especially when neutrophil percentage is low, means you have (or had) some kind of acute viral infection. I would recheck the blood count with differential 2 - 4 weeks later to check for resolution. ...Read more
Prob. Again with blood work: why do my neuts. Go hi then low and my lymphs and monos go low then hi being marked abnormal in both directions?
It's what they do: Your body is continuously under attack from microbial invaders. Picture a wwii movie where the #s of marines/af/navy/army troops fluctuate by campaign. Polys are marines who confront bacteria. Lymph special skill is viral and immunity work. Eos are specialized to parasites & allergens and monos may work as elite problem solvers, depending on where they are. The spleen houses reserves. ...Read more
