I'm suppose to increase my Neurontin (gabapentin) from 600mg a day to 2400mg a day i misunderstood the plan to increase and took 1800mg today will I have problems?

Well....: First, increasing from 600 a day to 2400 a day in one single day would be a fairly quick jump. Using 1800 a day as an intermediate point would probably be fine. Neurontin (gabapentin) is actually an incredibly safe medicine and, other than typical side effects, you week be hard pressed to do yourself much permanent damage with it. ...Read more

I was just prescribed neurontin (gabapentin). Is it more effective if I take with or without food?

Doesn't matter: Neurontin or Gabapentin is not dependent on whether you take it with or without food or even what types of food. This study (http://1.Usa.Gov/n5ysd2) actually looked at this issue and did not find any statistically significant differences. Best to take as directed by your doctor. Neurontin/gabapentin generally is best when taken in divided doses throughout the day. ...Read more

Is it ok to take Lyrica (pregabalin) and Neurontin? I use Neurontin to help me sleep at night. Won't take together just same day

Is it ok to take Lyrica (pregabalin) and Neurontin? I use Neurontin to help me sleep at night. Won't take together just same day

Avoid both for sleep: These medications will cause sleepiness but as a side effect. They can cause or worsen already existing sleep problems, not to mention affect your alertness while you are awake. If your problem falling asleep is due to pain, you will need better control of that during the day. Insomnia can result and sleep hygiene is the best way to help you sleep and may be combined with a safer sleep medication. ...Read more

Talk to your doc about your concerns and ask about starting at lower dose. You can gradually work your way up to 3, 600mg daily total. Btw combination of Mirapex (pramipexole) & Neurontin aggravates side effects (http://goo.Gl/bpkgef). ...Read more
