Can multivitamins increase risk of providing cancer cells with micro and macro nutrients, in large doses?

Can multivitamins increase risk of providing cancer cells with micro and macro nutrients, in large doses?

Unknown!: Great question! studies give conflicting results. Some chemotherapy works by inhibiting folate (folic acid) used by cancer cells, so high doses of folate (folic acid) aren't good for cancer patients. High doses of vitamin c inhibit some cancers growing in a dish, but also inhibit chemotherapy effects in patients with cancer. I advise getting nutrients from food and avoiding any high-dose supplementation. ...Read more

Bottom line, if screening CT scan finds something abnormal, you need to chat w/ordering physician to discuss your options regarding next step eg how to figure out what's going on. Sometimes the radiologist will suggest repeating a scan in a specific period of time if it's small & indeterminate. But this again is something best discussed w/ordering physician. Can taking ceecept elevate levels of mch?

Can taking ceecept elevate levels of mch?

No: Mycophenolate is not a noteworthy cause of megaloblastic changes in the blood. If your MCV is below 100, i would not be concerned. If your MCH is only silghtly above the reference range, again i would not give this another thought -- reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside at either end. If other parameters (i.e., mcv) are way off, seek another cause. ...Read more
