No!: Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is a long-acting injection that increases your white blood cells. It should only be given during a two or three week window when you're not receiving chemotherapy. Not known: This drug s a biotech drug using protein derived from e-coli. There r many side effects one being bone pain which can b rx'd with non Aspirin pain meds. Unclear question: Cea dropping is due to chemotherapy. It is a good sign, indicates chemo is working. Neupogen/neulasta are given to increase white cell counts. These are probably unnecessary if you are only taking f-5-fu based chemo. ...Read more
