Had on and off sharp pain for 2 days, pulsating, right side of head, doesn't feel like headache as it comes and goes within seconds, is it posture/nerves?

I would wonder how early shingles was ruled out? Early shingles does not leave any objective physical findings... Glosssopharyngeal neuralgia is uncommon and usually has a component within the throat as well.

Can produce pain on one side of the body (including the head). The clinical course may help with sorting out what is going on. Is this jolts of pain, progressive episodes of pain and are there any other symptoms besides nausea?
Does change in body position relative to gravity affect the pain? You need to have this worked up.

Any allergies?: Sounds like a migraine since it is on one side of your head. Try 3 excedrine if no allergies. Lay in a dark quiet room to try to sleep. Sometimes ice held or gently pulling and releasing the hair on that side can help. You can repeat the excedrine in6 hours if needed.
