Had septoplasty. Is Neilmed sinus rinse bottle as good as electric sinus irrigation kits? Are the electric kits hard to keep sanitized?

I have ringing in the ear. Then had fess/septoplasty. Using neilmed sinus rinse 6 times a day. Tinnitus now worse and can't smell - is this normal?
I used neilmed sinus rinse and I guess I pushed too hard and got some in my ear. Since then i've had horrible ear pain and a headache.
