Sonogram (Definition)

An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Why do I show a negative pregnancy test, even though my period is 4 months late?

Why do I show a negative pregnancy test, even though my period is 4 months late?

Can be other issues.: First, after 4 months, you probably should be aware if you're pregnant. You likely had symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and a redness on your face known as the mask of pregnancy. If you are certain you're pregnant, you might have done the test wrong or it was weak positive. If you're not sure of pregnancy, you might have an issue like polycystic ovarian disease. See your dr. And find out for sure.

Difficult to tell: Menstrual irregularities are quite common and it is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without a more detailed history, physical examination and perhaps lab tests. Please see this site for more info. Http://women. Webmd. Com/tc/missed-or-irregular-periods-topic-overview.

Likely normal: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. Not sure: The most likely cause for an enlarged uterus and heavy bleeding is fibroids. They are benign, smooth muscle rumors of the uterus that are found in 20%of women. Would ask your doctor for more details.

Been having vaginal bleeding for 27 days straight what can be the cause? I'm on birth control, pregnancy test negative, waiting on sonogram results

Been having vaginal bleeding for 27 days straight what can be the cause? I'm on birth control, pregnancy test negative, waiting on sonogram results

Hormonal abnormality: The causes of dysfunctional uterine bleeding are either hormonal or structural (like a fibroid). At your age I would strongly suspect a hormonal problem and not a fibroid. The ultrasound will rule out (or in) the structural abnormality. Do you have PCOS? If the ultrasound is normal your doctor will likely run multiple tests to determine what the hormonal problem is.

Have pid. Pelvic ultrasound normal. Lmp 14 aug. Last intercourse 12 aug. Preg test on saturday negative. Pregnancy test looks positive. What to do?

Have pid. Pelvic ultrasound normal. Lmp 14 aug. Last intercourse 12 aug. Preg test on saturday negative. Pregnancy test looks positive. What to do?

Finish antibiotics: When someone has a pelvic infection it is most important to finish the antibiotics, even if there is a chance of pregnancy. If the most recent home pregnancy test looks possibly positive, get a blood pregnancy test tomorrow - that is the most accurate to tell if you are pregnant or not. Tell your doctor your concerns.

Nausea & cramping aswel as nipples turning purple negative pregnancy test doctors sending for ultrasound scan what's is wrong with me?

Pregnancy: If you had unprotected sex and missed a period, there is a good chance that you are pregnant. A false negative or weakly positive pregnancy test could be due to an ectopic pregnancy. An ultrasound can make this distinction. Also, a blood pregnancy test is more sensitive than a urine test. You can get that at your doctor's office.

7 days late, negative pregnancy test?

7 days late, negative pregnancy test?

Repeat the test: Please repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. You may be entering menopause and that may cause irregular periods. Please consult your doctor.

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
