Emergency Room visit: A reason the carpal tunnel part of the wrist causes symptoms is that there is almost no space in there for problems, meaning there is no room there for swelling. Swelling, or bleeding into that tight space, causes pressure compression of nerves in that space and thus the symptoms. Constant pressure damages the nerves. An exam now by a Hand Surgeon called by the ER may help prevent worsening. ...Read more
What needle for IM injection of medication in small adult?18g 19g 21g 23g or 25g? 25g seem ok bt nurse said too small for IM. any larger seem painful!
21 or 23g.: I agree that 25g may be unnecessarily small. 21g or 23g would be better. Pain comes less from the size of the needle and more from the technique of the injection. ...Read more

3 years ago I got diagnosed with blood clots...I'm on no medication for them currently...I'm suffering with pins n needles in my heAd regularly??
Unrelated: don't know where you had the blood clots, but you received treatment and stopped already, pins and needles feeling in your head can be due to nerve affection, not due to vascular problem, unless the nerves in that area become ischemic (devoid of blood supply) but hence the symptom would be rather different pain sensation, which isn't your case. See your doctor who may refer you to a neurologist ...Read more
I injected my medication, top of the thigh 1 inch 25G. Aspirated no blood. Pulled needle out and it bled for 30 sec. should I worry? Inject into vein?
The fact that you: didn't get any blood when you pulled back the plunger suggests you were not in a vein. You may have lacerated a little vessel on the way in or back out. Best to use ice immediately. Since it clotted in 30 seconds you likely don't have a bleeding disorder. I think this might occur in perhaps 5% of subcutaneous injections. Avoid this area for future injections until back to normal. Stay well:) ...Read more
I had an allergic reaction to a medication which caused pin and needles and nerve pain in my body .Can an allergic reaction cause multiple sclerosis?
You didn't and No: 1) Allergic reactions don't cause "pins and needles" or "nerve pain" (whatever that means). They cause rash, itching and swelling. Whatever kind of reaction you had, it wasn't an ALLERGIC reaction. 2) Your symptoms sound nothing like MS. 3) Nobody knows what does cause MS, but "allergic" (or whatever) reactions don't. Whoever discovers the cause of MS will win a Nobel Prize in Medicine. ...Read more

Supposing someone got poked with a drug needle , like in a finger, what would it look like and would it heal?
Depends on size: frequently there is no external obvious sign of the needle unless it was a large needle. Amazingly I have seen lots of broken needles in patients that are not always painful especially diabetics. In the finger I presume one would have pain from the needle but certainly the puncture wound would heal if the needle was not terribly dirty otherwise if contaminated the area would be reddened ...Read more

Why does it sting so much when i take humira (adalimumab)? It's not the needle, it's the drug itself when I am injecting it
Humira (adalimumab) hurts: Humira (adalimumab) is a great drug in terms of its effectiveness for arthritis, uveitis, inflammatory bowel disease and other autoimmune but it hurts everyone who gets this medication. I have spoken to Humira (adalimumab) drug reps about this since i prescribe it to kids. There is something in the formulation that causes the stinging. After surgery im taking antibiotic and pain releiver,3 days after i feel like needle poking my heart and back portion.is it pleurisy or drug reaction?
Post-op problems: Surgery may cause new problems to arise-- and one of them is the formation of blood clots. When these blood clots break loose and travel in the body, they often get trapped in the lungs-- which act like giant filters. This is called a pulmonary embolus or P.E. If it hurts to breathe in, or if you find you don't have much breath this could be part of the problem. You probably should get it checked ...Read more

I : I added a link below from the center of disease control that may answer all of your questions in depth. To summarize: you can only catch hepatitis b from: - birth - mom to baby transmission - sharing needles with an infected person - having sex with an infected person - being in direct contact with the blood or open sores of an infected person - sharing a tooth brush or razor with an infected person (because of bleeding with those 2 activities) you cannot catch hepatitis b through breastfeeding, drinking, saliva, sharing utensils, hugging, kissing, touching, coughing or sneezing. 6-10% of adults with hepatitis b go on to have chronic hepatitis b (that means in 90-94% of people, it just goes away). 15-25% of people with chronic hepatitis b will go on to have liver disease. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
