Needle Drainage (Overview)

Skin lesion aspiration is the withdrawal of fluid from a skin lesion (sore). A needle is inserted into a skin lesion or skin abscess, which may contain fluid or pus. The fluid may be examined under the microscope or placed in a special laboratory dish (called a culture medium), where it will be watched for the growth of microorganisms.

What would cause the feeling of pins and needle in your head ? Should I be concerned ?

Many possibilities: The cause depends on many factors, but it could be a physical nerve injury or compression (occipital neuralgia) or other neurological condition. Keep a log of the timing, duration, location, and severity of these episodes and take the log with you to your primary care physician, who may/may not refer you to a neurologist. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003206.htm ...Read more

You may want to give your doctor a call. ...Read more
