Mammo Prescription and it as DX Z12.31- encounter for screening mammogram for malignant neoplasm of breast what is DX is it for a routine mammo?

ICD-10 code: Doctor's have to come up with codes for billing purposes — especially when we order tests. This system is called ICD-10. It is the 10th generation of the International Classification of Diseases if you really want to know. "Dx" stands for 'diagnosis', and Z12.31 is a breast cancer screening code for the mammogram. I'd ask the doctor more questions if you're still not sure. ...Read more

I've run out of my prescription lortab, and I do have norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) 5/325 left from a previous doctor visit. Okay to take this instead?

The Same: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) just has a lower amount of tylenol so the difference is minor. Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is probably a little safe from a liver damage standpoint. Chronic use of either require laboratory monitoring. Limit your tylenol (acetaminophen) daily dose to 2600 to 3000 mg daily regardless. See your doctor for continuing back problems. ...Read more

Good ideas-both!: I think your ideas are terrific, and I'd implement them immediately. In so doing you could get your labs rechecked in about one month and see if any positive impact. Having said that, I think it's a good idea to still follow your doctor's advice. A liver ultrasound is quite benign (even on the pocketbook, relatively speaking!) and helps exclude important considerations such as gallstone and cancer ...Read more

Possible fissure: This sounds like an anal fissure, which can be very painful. Internal hemorrhoids are possible too. You will need to visit your doctor to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Nothing to be embarrassed about, doctors see this all the time. ...Read more

Yes: Acyclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection.

I had used healthtap to renew a prescription before an expected long distance move. The move was delayed then, but will be in 2 weeks. Can I refill?

Maybe: Whether a PRIME doctor prescribes medications depends on the doctor, the patient, and each individual situation. PRIME fees are the same, regardless of whether medication is prescribed, because the fees are for the consultations (not the meds). Also, you have posted this current question on HealthTap's free public information forum. Instead, try requesting a PRIME consultation. ...Read more

Dr. Lewis, you once offered me flagyl for my symtoms and I turned you down. You also suggested that my husband create a profile for himself so that he may get a prescription. Can I take you up on the offer of the flagyl? I have given it some thought and I

Dr. Lewis, you once offered me flagyl for my symtoms and I turned you down. You also suggested that my husband create a profile for himself so that he may get a prescription. Can I take you up on the offer of the flagyl? I have given it some thought and I

Consult Dr. Lewis: Check and see if Dr. Lewis has a Healthtap Concierge practice. If he does not, start another consult on Healthtap Prime. You will likely get another doc but your chart will be there for that doc to review. That doc may or may not write for the Flagyl, depending on the new assessment made. Have your husband create an account and consult as well: either with Dr. Lewis or on Prime. ...Read more

Possibly but also...: Sorry to hear of your problems but you have not tried everything else, only conventional rx's. I had a patient with similar problems who found she had celiac disease & was cured by avoiding gluten! See a good holistic md. ...Read more

Why aren't prescription medications prepared in advance? Why do pharmacies prepare them? How do they have the training doing so? I thought they simply require you to have a prescription and simply sell you the medicine and that is it?

Some : Some prescriptions (such as liquid suspensions) need to be mixed when you pick them up because they will lose strength a couple weeks after the water is added. Other times pills need to be counted. In all cases an individual label needs to be generated with your specific instructions and the pharmacist needs to verify that the medication is not something you are allergic to or something that you can't take with your other medications. ...Read more
